Allan Blade

Holy shit, this is one long thread. Just read the whole thing, and now I have to go to bed.

The situation really suck for you, Joe. Sorry to hear it. Hopefully Blade will make good, eventually...

I have a feeling that Allan will continue to pay Joe when he feels like it. He has always paid lip service to his debt to Joe, but he has never really felt that there was any urgency in getting Joe paid off. As long as he has done so before he himself dies, that will be good enough in his eyes.
 
I kinda curious to see what happens at British Blades, last week he gave a list of people by name that he was sending knives to. That's a pretty specific promise.

Wonder what we'll see in a few weeks.......if they gettem' or not.
 
I'm sure Allan will get the knives to these people, for two reasons. First, if he doesn't he will be done as a knifemaker. Second, he wants to make everyone that is badmouthing him look bad. If he doesn't get the knives to these people then he will have proved that we were right all along, and he will do everything possible to keep that from happening.

As far as I am concerned, Allan is a timebomb waiting to explode. In his latest dealings he has proved that if he gets into financial trouble he will take deposits or payments for knives to use, not for the knives, but instead to cover other financial responsibilities. You can only do that so many times before you find yourself in a hole that you can't get out of.

When/if Allan gets all these knives to those that are owed, I hope that he then lives up to his promise not to take any more deposits, or payments in full, before the knives are completed. He stated in the past that he would never do that again, and guess what, as soon as he found himself in financial trouble he went back on that promise.
 
To take deposits and then spend them all is total irresponsibility. But Alan Blade is the Epitome of irresponsibility!!!

Joe, in the email that Allan sent me he stated that he is going to get the knives he owes people out to them before he pays you. That means it will be awhile before you see any money.

The fact that Allan should take care of five year old stuff before looking after three month old orders doesn't seem to enter Allan's train of thought.

To all those that are of the opinion that Allan has to sell knives before he can pay Joe, he should have sold enough knives over the last five years to be able to have put this to bed many times over. After all, he sells all the knives he can make. Anyone that thinks that Allan has any acceptable reasons for what he has done to Joe is just an Allan Blade excuser. I wonder how they would feel if it was them instead of Joe? Actually, I think I know.
 
Joe isn't going to buy any more knives from him, nor is he promoting Blade heavily thus Blade has no reason to give Joe anything aside from the ethical reasons. However if he doesn't give refunds/knives to the guys on the UK forums it will become harder for the others there to keep promoting his work and that seems to be one of his significant customer bases. People like Blade need fans like those willing to overlook his behavior towards others if they can get what they want.

I think that time, is coming shortly. Not now, but soon. I just can't believe there isn't some sort of legal discourse that Joe can take against Allan. I'm certain Allan has some assets that can have a judgement installed upon.

Joe have you considered contacting a lawyer here state side, that can act on your behalf?

One of the big problems here is that Allan owes Joe about $600.00. My guess is that a lawyer would cost a lot more than that.
 
I'm sorry, I was under the impression that Allen owed more than that still. Your quite correct. Irregardless, it's no excuse.
 
Well, Allan has posted on British Blades that he has sent out the first installment of the knives he owes and people should have them in a couple of weeks or so.
 
Guys thank a lot for your support.

Now that Allan Blade is a "good guy" because he deliveried knives and some will receive their overdue stuff and will say Allan Blade kept his words, etc.

Well I do hope he keeps his words although he failed MANY times for the past five years, but at least those new customers of his don't have to suffer all of the trouble like me. I HOPE!

Let's see when I can have my money back. I have learned one English sentence I think it's very proper to use it here: Don't hold your breath.
