Allan Blade

The problem is Blade spins a good story and a lot of people are willing to promote him and as noted in the above, actively take steps to reduce the exposure of his past. Yes you can pop in and give a warning, and then you get a horde of posters including admins and mods who support him, and Blade notes how Bladeforums is biased against him. It isn't hard to see how people get taken. All those people who promote him are partly responsible.

I wonder why he hasn't come by here for the umpteenth time to tell us that he is sick of all the comments from people that haven't dealt with him, and why aren't we complaining about the people that ripped him off.

There he goes again, telling another of his whiney stories, of which there have been many, and getting sympathy from everyone. Oh well, hopefully he will get knives out to everyone that is owed, and he will repay what has been owed for many years. He has no damn excuse for what he has done to Joe or what he did to Rob Simonich. All the things he says were done to him by others do not excuse the BS he has done to some really good people. I'm really sick and tired of his crybaby attitude about people not getting off his back. He still hasn't cleared up things that should have been cleared up years ago and he deserves to have people climb all over his back. At the rate he is going he won't have Joe paid off for years.

After reading what some of the BB members posted about how BF is bad, mean to allen, and able to post unfounded accusations, I figure if/when they realize they got scrrewed it will almost be funny. Kind of like warning somebody time after time a stove is hot, and showing how many other have been burned and still insisting on touching it themselves.

Allan, hows the preaching going? Cori filed any suits lately?

I don't see any reason to wish that on people, they are no different than Chen, they got ripped off because they trusted someone, and a *lot* of people are willing to defend and promote Blade. All he has to do is go somewhere new, fill a few orders to a few people who are willing to strongly promote him, and suddenly he has a massive rep in no time, can develop a fan base which is very defensive and then rip off a another bunch of people. That is exactly what he did on BB. His prices are very low so it is no problem for him to get orders initially and he does solid work so he gets very good feedback. It will continue until he rips off so many people that it is impossible for him to build up a new fan base which hasn't heard of him. But then all he has to do is change his name and start all over.

I figure at least some of the people at BB get the knives they pay for. I don't know a thing about Allan Blade but I know from con men.

The juiciest treat a con man is ever gonna get is a sucker that he can string along for a period of time- months, years, whatever. A halfway intelligent con man, which I figure allan blade must be judging by the back story, will recognize where he has burned his bridges and do his best to keep up appearances with those who still trust and believe in him.

Until he doesn't, of course.

I think we're underestimating the awe and reverence that Allan Blade is held in at British Blades. Take a gander at the sycophantic gushings in that thread. Fertile soil for the right kind of farmer over there.

I can picture these guys lined up outside a closed factory, pushing money through the mail slot and shouting into the empty building "here's my money, never mind about the going out of business stuff. Just put me on your list for when you're ready to make me some new widgets."

11 pages of blasting his work and ethics and one of his knives sold in a heartbeat on the FS forum, probably for more than he charged for it initially.

Being 'Notorious' has little negative effect here. Let this one sink....

Coop, people actually recommend that if someone is looking for an Allan Blade knife that they purchase it on the resale market. That way you don't have to worry about whether you will ever get the knife. I don't think this thread is going to be allowed to fade away.
 
Not sold in a heartbeat but hours. $190 is dirt cheap for a knife like that.
Someone needs the knife we can't comment the buyer is bad.

Talk about sold in a heartbeat, there has many maker's stuffs sold in seconds or minutes.

People should learn from this thread for this:
DON'T PAY ALLAN BLADE FULL IN ADVANCE EVEN HE ASKS YOU TO DO SO.

The truth is, Allan Blade can't keep his words to pay me back and he really doesn't mind to hang me here and doesn't tell me he can't send me payments.
