Almost time to know (2012 Case/Bose) colab gossip thread.

I'd love to see a Lanny's Clip, with any handle material, but especially a nice wood.

I'm hoping they can make it for under $200.

Not saying I'm psychic or anything, but, you know... First reply. :D

Truly, I had no idea.

Now, back to page 3 to drool!

Trying to read the card in the background of the group shot, I can just make out

Autumn Bone
Chestnut Bone
Ebony
Abalone
something Stag (Sambar?)

My wish is granted. Maybe I really do have a fairy Godmother who is watching out for me.;)

Thanks, Daniel! I have been trying to read the card too and I couldn't make out any of that info.

Being somewhat of a noob, could I get the definition of a "Lanny's Clip".
What a great looking knife!

Man, this one really hurts!!!

Not being able to get the Tribal Spear hurt(tried, but could not open it at Blade that year), but not like having to miss out on this one will.

I won't ever be able to open a slip joint again unless it has a light pull. Bad right thumb, and surgery didn't help. Kerry and Rick fixed me up with two a couple of years ago, and boy am I glad. Both nailed the light pull for me.

Kerry, I hope my LK order with a light pull is getting near the top of the pile:p

Thats a bummer. Thank goodness for custom makers :)

Sorry to hear Ken.

Thanks guys. I've gotten used to not being able to use it, but when one of the Case Bose knives comes out it gets tough, lol.

Kevin, you are right about the custom makers. Kerry and Rick fixed me up a couple of years back. I've had an LC on order with Kerry for a couple of years, so maybe my name is getting near the top of his huge pile.

Ken,

It looks like it doesn't have a lanyard hole either. Cuz I just pulled my GEC 71 out of my pocket and did a little test. I held the lanyard between my index and middle finger by a knot and use my other had (your non operation hand) and pulled it right open. Ever tried this? I had a hand injury that took about two years to heal, so I got used to learning different ways to do things :)

Worth a shot.

Kevin,

I've not thought of doing that, but it sounds like it would work. I don't have a slip joint with a lanyard hole, but maybe I should think about getting one. I have tried opening by holding the frame with those fingers, but could not. A lanyard would help.
Thanks for the idea:thumbup:

Your welcome, it was super easy to do. Much easier then I expected visualizing it. The lanyard is 550 cord, maybe that helps :)

Talk to you later Ken.

You don't need a hole to have a lanyard (but if I remember right, Kerry told me the Lanny's Clip as designed will not accommodate either):

I confess my ignorance about the matter, and take the chance to ask a question. I may be the only one around here not to know it...but I have no shame in admitting that
So, I'd like to have someone explain me a few things about the Case/Bose series.
I understand that it's a special run (no idea how many knives they make, but surely it's a limited series), that they're designed by Bose and produced by Case (but I'm not sure on this).
I have no idea of how you can get one (apart from bribing one of the biggest dealers :D ), and I'd like to have a clue on it...just to know how it works.
Back to the 2012 Case/Bose...it's an awesome pattern and one of my favourite designs. The only "fault" is that 3 7/8" is too big for me...I'm voted to smaller knives lately, so I don't think I will be going after this. Still, it does look great, and I'm sure it will make many people happy.

Wow that's a nice clip. Thanks for posting the in-assembly shots Knifehead--not something I see every day. The stag is the ticket, but if the bone's anything like my tribal spear I'd be a happy man with that too. I'm assuming the "Autumn Bone" is actually Antique Bone like I've got on the spear, also an option on other collab knives. Carried mine today and it still wows me.
