Am I the only one who doesn’t like Spyderco

I'm sure they make good knives, that is why they are so popular. I'm sure the majority of people here have good judgement. Still not gonna try it, though. Cheers.
Just curious but what knives do you like? Brands? Designs?

My next purchase is probably going to be a Buck. As the Spyderco brand is alive and well, I will give my financial support to other brands.
I wouldn’t worry about Buck Knives as they are doing well financially. They probably sell more knives in a month than Spyderco does in a year as they are a much larger company. Having said that I have owned many many Buck knives in my lifetime and have found their quality control a bit lacking sometimes. But you spend your money how you like and I’ll do the same. 👍🏻

My favorite spyderco, wish they made more in this linerless super light weight configuration. Love the LC200N steel too..

My top brands? Owning and carrying?
1. Spyderco - ergonomic, many steels, many styles, no snags, just perfect
2. Victorinox - Duh
3. Cold Steel - Strong and capable knives with super cool designs
4. David Mary - Love his work, feels like a fixed blade made by Spyderco x Victorinox for me
5. Microtech - I EDC a UTX 75 and did not think it would be so useful,

Also carry Buck, Opinel, MAM, Ontario, Douk, K55, Leatherman, classic brands like that.

No Emerson, ZT, Hinderer, Strider, Medford, for me. Benchmade is boring to me.

As the title states. I have never owned or had the desire to buy a Spyderco. I’ve had friends who love them and I’ve handled them, but they are just not my cup of tea. Am I the only one with no love for them?

No, you're just braver than the rest of us for starting this thread on a forum with lots of Spyderco users :D .

To me they have no aesthetic allure, which always tends to factor in on my purchasing choices, but they may be great practical users. Well, so are others. The few ones I've actually had in hand did not impress me at the asking prices. In any case, I'm a 90:10 fixed blade user...

The longer I use knives the more I like Spyderco. They really have a strong grasp of the fact that knives are primarily tools to cut things with and tend to be pretty slicey. Spyderco is one of the best knife companies out there and when I really like one of their knives it tends to be the ones that were designed by Sal Glesser. Unlike some US knife companies, they seem to have a lot better oversight of their overseas factories, in terms of quality control. I like the Spyderhole better than thumbstuds and consider the Benchmade Griptilian an honorary Spyderco knife. I like the range of steels they use. I really like LC200N, but I'm not a big fan of H1 steel.

I'm not a fan of the limited sprint runs, but they're not really for me, so it's not a big deal. I also don't find myself drawn to a lot of their designer collaborations as much, because they're often outrageously priced for what they are. I wish they did less to try to keep people from taking their knives apart. That said, I have fewer Spyderco knives than I want and will rectify that in the years to come.

Yeah, they are the perfect combo of good ergos and low profile carry together with a nice 3 ³/₄" blade.

I’ve been carrying an Endura since back in the early 90’s when they had plastic built in pocket clips.

This is a ridiculous thread.

Some people love Spyderco some people don't. Who knew?
Bingo! But..
Then there’s me…I don’t know. I have a Spy. fixed blade, and it is one of my favorite knives.
I‘m in the woods and have only seen pics. of the folders.
I won’t buy sight or touch unseen, but the talk is pointing out + & -s from both owners & the uninterested.

Back in my less knowledgeable days of only shopping at B&M stores Spyderco's were unappealing to me. In 2013, after joining BF, y'all convinced me to buy a Spyderco Gayle Bradley instead of replacing my old, lost Sog Pentagon Elite. I'd never had a knife that felt that good in hand, cut that well, or held an edge that long.

I've bought, sold, and traded many different models since. But the ones that I have now will stay with me.

I don't like backlocks, which is why I never kept any of them.
