American Elk covers

Very cool Jeff! Did ya do the sheath too?

Regrettably, no.
I found a seller/maker on ebay, and bought that for an old Pal 4” I had. Wanted to make my own, but ran out of time, and need to get more leather. (Sure wish Tandy was still around)

My intention was to make a pocket sheath , but this one fits perfectly so off it goes.

Thanks for the compliment! Coming from you means a lot. I have a lot to learn.

Good deal Jeff, have you seen that WIP I did on elk over in the knife makers section?

Almost the only pic of this knife, my own personal EDC. Its one of my standard Gordo patterns. 5.25" oal with a 2"blade. This one was kinda experimental and has a flaw so I kept it. I normally flat grind this model out of either Damascus or AEB-L, this one is hollow ground from A2. Also I normally use 1/8" stock for this knife and this is 5/32" with a tapered tang.

A hearty well done if you notice the flaw.

Funny that you mentioned that Gary! My dogs, also, each got an antler for Christmas. I purposely put a stag knife right in front of them to see if it would interest them. They just took a whiff, and looked at me like I was goofy. I guess, "if the shoe fits........"!
That's an interesting experiment with a result I wouldn't have predicted, Lance!:thumbsup:

Funny you guys mentioned dog chews. Living in Illinois, my chances of finding an elk antler shed is slim.
I went through the displays at 2 walmart pet departments and picked 2.
Mounted them on a small drop point I ground out if an old nicholson file.

I think that came out really fabulous, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: Did you "toast" or otherwise treat the Walmart dog chew antlers? The rich brown handles on the knife look much darker than antlers I've seen at pet stores. ;)

Next project is to try elk horn on a modded tl29.
Looking forward to seeing the result when you get a chance to try it!:cool::thumbsup:

Frank, that is a very handsome pen knife you have there!!:cool::thumbsup:

Yep that's it different pins in the bolster. Well done @rwswanson. Makes a guy go hmmm as I only buy pins in one pattern to avoid such situations.
