American Elk covers

I recently posted this elsewhere and although I thought I'd have it forever I just traded it. One last time.View attachment 1094694
Oh, my. I hope you won't regret that one...like I did/do:eek: I can't wait to see the other side of the trade.

Here's some more American Elk from Buck.

Rudy Ruana started using Elk slabs a long time ago, and the present company still does as seen in that Camp knife above. John

Great Eastern Cutlery 891212.
Stainless blades and Slim Elk handles on this knife (obviously!!), with an interesting blade grind! Made in America as you know!

The objects in the pic need some explanation. The long strand of shale beads was found/gathered along the banks of the Fraser River in British Columbia. They may be funerary, and date from several thousand years in the past. The Deer point was excavated on Denman Island (Sla-Dai-Aich), in the Georgia Strait (the Salish Sea), by my wife while enlarging our vegetable garden. The other string of beads contains Cobalt Blue and White Heart beads, probably Venetian, salvaged from 1800s North American trading, along with bone tubes created in more recent times. This necklace is on its way to another member of BF!!

Glad you like them hamsco!!:) Knowing where artifacts are found starts to tell their stories. The rest of those stories are discovered with research of various depths. Or the stories are guessed at or created with tickled imagination!!
Such an admired knife deserves enhancing accoutrements, though it doesn't need them!!

Wow! I did that? To a well deserving gentleman. It was my pleasure Charlie. And, don’t forget I think that I got the better half of the trade. I guess that’s what makes a good deal. That package will arrive tomorrow.

I think that Frank @knarfeng has or had a very nice 68 White Owl in Am.Elk Maybe he could post that here too, a knife I admire a lot ;)
