An ambitious folder.

Hello Everyone! I want to let you all know that the issue with Lionsteel concerning their Rotoblock mechanism has been successfully resolved!

Mr. Pauletta of Lionsteel immediatly contacted me after he seen everyones concerns and we started negotiations. I'm sorry to leave everyone in the dark about this but this was between him and me. And I am very happy to say that we came to an agreement.

I want to say that just for the fact that Mr. Pauletta contacted me right away and wanted to work with me on this speaks volumes for both himself and his company! He IS a honorable man! I give a big thumbs up for Lionsteel!! Its good to have companies like this company in our industry! So please support them!

I also want to add that I do think that SR-1 is a cool as hell knife!! I'm thinking I need to add that one to my personal collection! And that Rotoblock looks good on the side of it!

Thanks again everyone!!

Rick Hinderer

I'm registered on lionsteel site as weel, ordered through this site.
You have made the reservation, you have not purchased it yet.
Your reservation is number 75, you can see it here:

Now you have to confirm the reservation and purchase the knife.
Please let me know if you need an help

OK, put me on the list. I will log onto the website and pay tonight when I get off from work. This looks like an awesome product. Thanks.

Two more pics from the Lion Steel site. Bronze looks best, I think, but sandblasted grey is probably wiser as scratches will be less visible:

I love looking at this knife. The many neat features (Lockbar stabilizer, locking tip and textured handle), the one-piece handle, the blade grind and blade profile.

Kinda like porn :)

I found this link rather informative. It looks to have great potential!
This is the direct link to the pdf. It looks indeed like a very good steel with excellent toughness and wear properties. It's a bit strange that they only go more in dept about abrasive wear resistance, while this steel is extremely good in adhesive wear resistance.
The relative comparison chart on the bottom of the pdf gives IMO a very good overview of its value.
The following info makes the table more clear:

  • Sverker 21 = D2
  • Arne = O1
  • Rigor = A2
  • (most)Others are proprietary steels of Uddeholm

The only thing I couldn't find anywhere is information about its corrosion resistance. It has lower chromium content(compared to D2 and stainless steels), but that is possibly compensated by the much higher molybdenum content.
I'm not good enough in metallurgy to make a good prediction, so I will have to wait until I can test it to know it for sure.

I wish you the best of luck there next week!

Been a while since I posted, but I have a question. I am in the list to purchase, and have registered on the Lion Steel website. What I am unsure about is how to go forward. I will be unable to pay before the 1.20.2010 date so I will be paying the higher price, but so far the knife looks well worth it. Do I need to confirm my order now and then pay when I can, or wait and confirm and pay at the same time? Am I correct that I actually have until 03.27.2010 to pay? I am actually planning to pay in February.

BTW, glad to see that the think with Rick Hinderer has been worked out!:thumbup::thumbup:

i think you can pay in feb but it will be 100.00 more. you can also pay by paypal, & switch the denominations to euros, which will automaticly give you the current rate of exchange for that day.you should be able to find the page on the lionsteel website, that includes booking, but payment is separate, using an order number you get after booking, then using their email address & sending the payment through paypal, & putting your order number in with the payment.check the other pages of this thread & you can find more info, or email lionsteel or pm giannip68.its a bit confusing at 1st but you;ll get it..

I have no business in others financial affairs but it seems like if you are planning on paying a month later, it would be worth it to pay now with a credit card. You usually have a month to pay off the bill and even if you have to pay the finance charge for a month, the monthly interest on a little less than $300 is much less than the approximate $150 price increase of paying after the 20th.

I guess since I am disabled and not really working much, I have to figure out any way to save even just a little bit of money. Sometimes having a small carefully controlled amount of debt can be financially beneficial.

I have booked, ordered and paid for my new Bronze baby on Friday.
It does not show as being paid yet though.
I am looking forward to seeing this knife. It really looks nice and unique.
That mono frame was enough to sell me on this knife. Add the interesting Roto mechanisim and the replaceable lock face and this knife needs to be owned!;)
Will the lock tips/screws and such be items on the websight to buy later on?
I like getting items like that to keep as spares.

Now the wait is on.

Ordered and payment sent for one of these.

Something different to try.

Thanks for the oppurtunity.
