An ambitious folder.

Well, I haven't tried it yet on food. It is true that Sleipner, like D2, has a fair amount of Chromium which helps to keep it "relatively stainless". I kinda expect it to eventually get a slight patina, like my ZDP knives get after regular use on food, but nothing to really worry about.
(edit) meanwhile I added a similar clarification to my video.

All in all, I think that this is an interesting off-beat alternative to a Sebenza. And the full titanium handle is really special, you just keep on examining it.

Sleipner is very different from D2: it has around 50% less chromium than D2 (around 8% against 11-12% for D2). I would think Sleipner is a little less rust-resistant than D2.

will giannip notify you when your folder is ready for shipping?

just wondering when to expect mine...

No tracking and no e-mail notification, James.

Italy has invaded the US!!! Holy crap are these some great knives! I'm kind of speechless at the moment. I will try to post pics soon.

Looking to your further impressions.

On my side I'm absolutely impressed.
It's a unique folder, with nothing comparable actually.

Here are some pics: this knife is hip! (Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated to Lionsteel in any way, this is just MHO)!

damn, the bronze is nice. should've picked that, or.....I'm always worried that bronze turns out "golden", rather than "brown", which I prefer.....

I would like to hear where that information is coming from as well. I have been following the Italian knife forum where the knife was originally proposed and I have not seen any mention of it there.

I'm still trying to get some pics that are worth a darn but don't know why when others have posted such great pics. I know mine won't come close.

Could you please point me towards the source of that information?

It was a post made by Sal on the British Blade Forums in a thread about the SR-1 in the Production Knife Forum.

Whoops, I see kreole posted a link while I was typing.

Got a call from FedEx earlier today concerning my package from Lion Steel...Seems that U.S. Customs wanted FedEx to provide clarification on the contents inside...something more than "camping tool", LOL. I should have these folders in my hands tomorrow if I can sit home long enough to catch the FedEx courier. I've been looking forward to these for quite some time now! :)
