An ambitious folder.

And got it for 150 euros :)

Especially now is even sweeter cause my currency is strengthening against the Euro!

This is one VERY HECKUVA EXCELLENT Folder!!!

It's not a finish flaw, but a tungsten carbide layer.
This layer of carbide hardens the surface of the tang, minimizing wear against the ultra hard replaceable lock face. Plus even w/o the Rotoblock engaged the frame are not going to move. :)

I figured it was just rough to prevent slip.

Thanks for the added info.

That is good to know about the tang. I know they did that with titanium lock bars but never thought about it on the steel tang. I just figured the replaceable tip would be hardened a couple points less and it would be the piece that any wear would occur on. But if they are all like that you must be right because they wouldn't have overlooked that flaw on all of them.

One already has a hair line scratch on the blade so that makes it used and I might as well carry it. I had debated using it because of the price and how I usually carry more of a thin blade slicer but I will enjoy using it so why not.

I think this is going on the "never sell" list. I hope they make some of those designs that are on the italian forum. I'd definitely get a couple more.

even here on MCKF not everybody received theirs yet

.

Hmm, I thought they were all going to be shipped at the same time? I would have thought they would have been delivered over there by now for sure.

.

I apologize...reading through 26 pages of text is hard.

Who do I contact to order, and when is the next production?

Anoyone else in the USA got a bill from Fedex for customs fees?

I got two at preorder, so $24.30 smackers for me.

I did not get a bill that I know of.

Mine just came yesterday, so do not be shocked if you get one.

The declared value was 405 Eur and duty was listed at $18.80. fedex must be ganking me for the rest as an "advancement fee"

So it looks like Fedex paid it and want $5.50 for paying customs for me.

I don't know why the 15 Euro for shipping was in the declared value....because that is not correct!!! Anyone from Lion Steel care to comment?

http://www.canadacustomer.fedex.com/ca_english/customsguide/declaredvalue.html "yes it's from the CA fedex site, but applies here too: "A shipment's declared value represents the selling price or fair market value of the contents of the shipment, even if not sold."

Don't get me wrong...I love the knives, but despise giving the goverment my money because I give them so damn much already

In Italy we are obligated to make an invoice for the same amount of the money that I have received.
In all the invoices there are two lines, In the first one there is the description and the price of the knife, in the second one there is the cost of shipment.
I do not know the reason that in US they charge importing tax for the cost of delivery.
The only thing that I am sure is that I can not charge an invoice different from the money that I have received, I can not take off the 15 Euro for the cost of delivery from the invoice.

In Holland (and I think it's like that for all of the EU) duties are charged over shipping cost. Yes, you heard that right. So I think if the amount is high enough, the same apparently happens in the US.
