An ambitious folder.

Thanks for the info guys. If someone else in the USA gets more on this, then I'd appreciate the update.

I have just controlled the value of the goods that I wrote on the FedEx's documents (not my invoice).
I wrote the amount without the delivery cost.

But I think that the custom officer reads LionSteel's invoice, he do not read the FedEx's document.

I just received my Fedex bill in the mail today for my knife.
$9.40 for Customs Duty
$5.50 Advancement Fee
$14.90 Total Duties,Tax,Customs, and other fees.

That is how the Fedex bill I got reads. This is my first overseas purchase from a company so I do not know if this is odd, and to be honest I am not overly concerned. I like the knife and that is what matters most to me. It it was tall dollars I might be POed, but what the heck, I'm having fun with this awesome tool and feel it is worth the little extra.
Thanks to giannip68 and Lionsteel for this fine knife. It is a KEEPER!!:D

I paid 60 bucks to fedex. Cause taxes are high in my country. I only got the one folder, imagine how much if I bought two :)

Don't mind at all, given how nice this one is :)

Understood that my "Uncle Sam" can be a money grabbing bastard. US Customs will take liberties where they may. I'll pay it and be mad at Customs, but happy with my knives. Thanks to Lion Steel and giannip68 for making a great knife.

.
I received my SR-1 and didn't pay anything extra. I have never paid any "Duty" on a knife or other product I received from a foreign country. I think you get at least $800 duty free anyways ( I may be wrong).

As far as the knife goes, I ordered a second one, I think it is a pretty slick knife. I will replace the teflon washers with bronze ones and maybe make a new thumbstud to try and move a little more towards the tip to get a better mechanical advantage, both to try and get it to open easier. I may mafe a longer clip, not sure on that yet. Other than those minor items, I like the knife.

I will be at the Blade Show in Atlanta, booth 212.
I have some SR-1 with me, everyone that want see this knife are welcome.

I think they've set the regular price to €295,-, which comes down to $360 at current currency rates.

I thought about that however that's what it would cost an individual to buy one. If KC or someone else is importing them they'd have to either charge more to make a profit or pay less for them in the first place to sell them at $360 and make money.

IIRC in the first few pages of this thread it was stated that the initial 150 unit group buy was priced as if it were a large customer order. Was hoping that KC would be able to price them better than the indiviual price. Kind of like buying from someone like Spyderco. You can buy direct but you pay full retail so they don't compete against their dealers. Buying from an online vendor should be cheaper than buying direct from Lionsteel, least that's what I'm hoping.

Well, for your sake I hope so too. ;) I've already paid it in full, saw this thread too late. All I have to do now is wait till they ship mine from the 2nd batch. :D

I am happy and proud to inform you that the SR-1 has just won an award at the blade show.

Congrats Gianni and Lionsteel!!

It was good to talk to you at the Blade Show, I heard many people around the show talking about your knives. I also like the big chopper you had there! I hope to see you there again next year.

I asked Gianni today if there's any progress. Here's his reply (which arrived promptly, I might add):
All the components are ready, in these days we are assembly the SR-1.
I think next week I will be able to send.
Sorry for the delay
Best regards
