Clearly Andre is concerned that his character is being exposed, otherwise he wouldn't take the time to discuss this in detail with Aaron (Thegunnerd), and have him come here. The fact that Andre doesn't come on here to explain things himself says it all. He is a liar, a coward and a cheat.
 
Let's try and focus on real time events, refunds, deliveries, etc. Beating the dead cheating, coward, lying horse does nothing but add drama. These threads work best when facts are posed, not when chanting the same thing over and over occurs. Just a suggestion.
 
Agreed. Sorry, but I take things personally when someone sends a "representative" on the forums to call me a liar. Was just trying to give Andre some incentive, to come and speak to this himself on his own behalf, but clearly that's not going to happen.

You are right though RevDev. Let's focus on getting Tomalock his refund.

I got my refund in full today. Andre also asked me if I was Tomalock of bladeforums. In the end I gave Andre the choice to send me a knife, a butcher, a black butcher of some type, and have me not happy or send me a refund. He did choose the refund on his own.

There is some miss communication with the ordering process. I don't get the impression that Andre is a bad guy, but there is some stuff that needs to be worked on.

This sounds very good to me. With a little bit of luck, Aaron and this experience may give Andre the incentive to consider customer service as a valuable addition to his knife-making skills.

At 70 years of age, I sometimes feel older than the other Neanderthals in the cave. But all you young Cro-Magnons keep me on my toes. :p

Education trumps recrimination.

I, unfortunately cannot come to the same conclusion based on my experience. I think he probably had a bit a more of an eye to the PR angle when dealing with your case since his character was already being questioned publicly.

I question that too. One of my last messages to him, begging, for my refund was:

"....Look Andre, I am not trying to make problems for you, but this has been a complete nightmare for me. Put yourself in my shoes, I ordered a knife, then was told to pay more money after my order was confirmed. Then to even get a reponse from you I had to go on the forums and make myself look like a jerk, then I follow through on my end and clear things up on your forum, only to be ignored again and not have the balance of my money refunded. None of this has been my fault, yet It's been like pulling teeth over months just to get the money I paid to you returned. Please just do the right thing and follow through on your word of refunding my money in whole. Thank you."

He ultimately, did not refund my money, Paypal had to. I feel like Andre owes me an apology for not refunding my money and posting lies, using Aaron (thegunnerd) as his mouthpiece, but I doubt that will ever happen.
 
It's a shame things have to escalate (be posted on billboard like BFC) to get results. :grumpy: Hopefully this gets resolved for you sugarleaf.

Fortunately, this section of Bladeforums serves as a PSA for all members showing which makers to be wary of and deal with caution, or not at all. ;):D

With any luck he'll follow through and send a rambling email to all his customers removing any doubt he's completely lost it.

For you- are makers going to gang up and Not Sell to you?

I hope you get your refund and this all just goes away.
 
I don't think a maker is not going to sell to me, that's a pretty ridiculous thought if that's what he actually meant. Personally in this thread I think I've been logical and fairly nicer and more even than I could have been. I saw someone having an issue that I thought was similar to mine.

I wish the guy well,

I really don't have a response thought out as to what I could say to him on FB, I'll probably just let it go.
 
Wtf really. I realize why he needs a rep now. Obviously this guy should not be talking to customers. Thanks for keeping us updated and this should remove all doubt about Andre....

When this thread began, I had a positive opinion of ADV and his knives. I have held some nice mid-tech Butchers (all being fairly priced), but I wouldn't drop a dime in ADVs name now. I may not even have the whole story, but I have enough to see the red flag.
This is a case for Lindsay Lohan's PR guy.

Well, just to put it in this thread, for future readers, I RECENTLY HAD A DEAL WITH TOMALOCK & IT WENT GREAT! In my short interactions, he seems like a stand up guy! I wouldn't think twice about dealing with him again! He answered emails and all questions in a timely fashion, was more than agreeable on payment options & price, and shipped fast providing a tracking number. Link below.

In my mind this only serves to make him look much, much worse. Honestly, when all the details came out I could see it being put down as poor customer service and seriously botched communication on his end, which is a big problem for a maker but something that can be overcome. Posting vague threats to one of your customers because they respectfully brought up a legit issue? Much bigger problem.
