Anniversary Knife Contest!

Heys TPVT,

Lots of nice designs here, and I am sure there are many more to come... so hold on to your original order for a while ;)

Best regards,

ll.

hey ll. jut wanted to clarify. the thinking of something new quick comment wasn't regarding my original order...that's definitely a keeper. i meant that i better think of a new idea so that i could post it in this thread before the contest ended (done!).

sometimes, i'm hard to understand. ;)

Ok I got it now. It's much more likely though that it was a comprehension problem on my side, as I am not a native speaker :)

P.S. Your steak knife design makes me want to eat steak NOW. :)

Hello everyone!

I'd like to get into this!

First of all I have to say: I have always been an admirer of JK's work, but just never had the cash to afford a custom made knife.
Since I got into knifemaking myself (have made 3 blades so far...) JK's designs have always been inspiring for me. The simple and clear lines are something I really dig.

This design started out with a knife I recently built, (link to a pic) because the shape handles great and it's a perfect user. Then I tried to manipulate the form of the blade and handle into something I'd like to call an "hommage" to JK.

Here it is:

Total length: 7 3/4"
Handle length: 4 1/4"
Blade length: 3 1/2"

Please comment! :)

Best regards,
Murphys Law.

I really like that man! All these designs are putting me to shame ;). I love a tone of the designs in here.

I love the style of JK knives, hopefully I'm going to have a custom made soon and I'll be keeping you in mind. For this contest, I'm going with an EDC/utility with a 3" blade, 7" OAL. I came up with this design completely on my own, so I apologize if it looks similar to any other entries. I'm not copying you, I promise!

I'm liking Lightleak and Murphys designs. Maybe I should have gone for an EDC size... :)

I've never tried designing a knife before. It is harder than it looks!

Here is my attempt.

largejk.jpg

Overall Length 7.4"
Overall Height 1.5"(If the knife can't be angled like it is in my pic for measurements, let me know and I can modify my design. Don't want to break the rules.)
Blade height is 1"
Blade length 3.5"
Blade thickness 1/8"
