Sorry that my lines arn't the cleanest. Free handing and all lol.

Here's mine.....

I named it the "Treeline Bowie" and was meant to be a slightly larger, beefier cousin of the Trapline.

5.5" Blade
4.5" Handle
1.5" Wide

Thanks for the contest John and here's to many more!!!!!

Another GREAT design! WOW, everyone is better at this than me! I would pick at least 5 designs a head of mine. I find the contest enjoyable because it makes me think of what I will ask john to build next! Thanks again John, i don't think I'm getting a free knife out of this, but i have enjoyed it a lot

I'm glad I stopped by...I may have missed this!

Here's my design. I think it would look great in burlap micarta with brass pins or ghost jade G10 with stainless pins. The varied grind would provide a strong tip even though it's quite pointy. Would make a good driller. The taller grind near the handle would provide a nice low angle for carving, etc. John, if the varied grind is something that you can't or won't do, just let me know. I'm thinking basically flat grinds with a secondary convex edge. Leaving the forge scale above the grind lines would really set it off. I'm thinking of calling the design "Bird and Bushcraft" because I wanted to combine some qualities of a bushcraft knife (think woodlore style) with those of a bird and trout knife.

Thanks for doing this again, John. Its fun!

I like that. In fact, I like that a lot.

Bumpity bump...deadline for designs is tomorrow!!!!! (I'm not sure of the exact time...)

Deadline is 12 Midnight CST tomorrow. Over the weekend, I will be organizing 2 batches for voting (too many for one batch). This will be round 1 of the voting. The top 10 designs will go to round 2. Each person will get 1 vote per batch. I see a lot of designs that I would be proud to add to my line.

So this is a design I came up with called the "Kifaru". It means Rhino in Swahili. I designed it as a hybrid knife/light chopper platform. To me, it would be perfect as a slicer with a full flat grind and some thin stock 01. As a chopper, you could beef it up to 3/16" and go with a convex grind to do the job. I like "different" looking knives, and this one stood out to me out of the rest of the drawings that I did. It has a pointed, exposed pommel, a 6" blade, and a 4.5" handle (including pommel). I think it would be a wonderful tool for any kind of outdoors use! Thanks for the chance John, and to the rest of you: amazing designs, if money really did grow on trees I'd be commissioning the creation of many of them! Good luck to everyone!

Holy crap. I gotta get a drawing done. Almost out of time.

Congrats on hitting your 4th year John !

I'll add my entry now as I'm starting a block of long night shifts and don't know if I'll be able to post again before Friday.

Tried to keep it a little less wacky than my designs of the past John, I figured the blade shape would keep the tip plenty strong so it should be a great all round edc !

Thanks for the chance !

Jeeze Pit. Think like me much? I had a Santoku idea rattling around in my head. Back to brainstorming. :D

Nice one PMBSPYDER!, that one begs to have something to chop up. i agree it would be great as a multi purpose kitchen slicer if yo went thin and probably a pretty good chopper if yo went heavy. Nice1

Thanks for the compliment Dan! I have to admit I'd probably go with 3/16", but that's just my love for blade heavy choppers. I think if you drop it down to 1/8" or 5/32" it would be the best of both worlds. Also, off-topic, when work slows a bit for me we should meet up and do some gear testing! -
