As you may know, I`m approaching my one year anniversary in May as a full time knifemaker. jds1 made a great suggestion - have one of my previous customers design an "Anniversary Special" model. The design chosen will get the customer one of them free. Well we all know how much I enjoy a contest, so this is on! Any of my customers who has a design in mind, please post the idea here, and email me a drawing.

Wow... ask and you shall receive. :D I guess I'd better come up with a good design now.

Just throwing this out there, maybe a vote to decide the winner? I can see maybe a couple hang ups with this, but I wanted to put it out there. Great idea jds1! What a cool contest.

That sounds good, voting will be open to all, whether they submitted a drawing or not.

I'll start with this one. 3/32" O1, two 1/4" pins, 1/4" lanyard hole. 3 1/2" cutting edge, then 1/4" to start of scales, followed by 4 1/4" of handle. Maybe some thumb grooves just in front of the scales. I've got a marked up drawing with all dimensions on it to send you.

Nice Jeff, I really like the bottom of the handle. I'm a big fan of a "bird's head" shaped handle, and also really like the lanyard hole placement on the back of the bird's head. I made a few fire steel handles like that.

very cool John.. :thumbup: i'm going to have to work on a design myself..:)

that looks like a great user Jeff... nice job..:thumbup:

im not really eligable (spelling?) since i am not currently a customer, so i am not able to win, but i went ahead a drew up a design anyway, for fun. ill post some pics tomorrow.

i would be in favor of calling it the JK S.T.U.B (Super Tough Utility Blade).

Nice looking design. :thumbup::thumbup:

You know me, I like narrower blades but prefer 5/32" steel.

I've got an idea I'm working on, I figure that I will have bought a JK by the deadline, so that's kosher right? If I haven't bought one by that time, I will waive my right to win a free one.

It sure is! :thumbup:
