I've always enjoyed drawing, so AutoCAD and 3D modeling came naturally. Although I'm not a drafter/designer fulltime, I do a fair amount of work with 3D modeling as a "hands on" product engineer for an aerospace company.

I am not a collector, or very active member of this forum...but I do use knives, and use them hard.

I stumbled upon JK about 8 months ago and received my first piece of work from him in December. It is carried everyday, and I absolutely love it. Just this week I started to design an idea that would probably be my next request of JK. Little did I know this contest was going on. I am not a designer by any means...but here is my entry...

What is that unsharpened part on the rear of the blade called ? One of JKs March specials with that removed, the entire blade sharpened would be nice. My scanner doesnt work or Id enter one. Jds1 design is pretty much what I have in mind.

Hey John my son shamed me into re-drawing my design to scale, I tweaked it a little as well seeing as how I'm now putting it into the contest, this is my updated drawing ( still not really a contest winner but at least more accurate than my last !).

I actually think a smaller blade, say 2 3/4"-3" would look better but that would limit the use and I wanted this to be an edc that could cope with most everyday tasks that a hiker would have !
I also tried to design it so that you could cut food stuff on chopping board etc and keep you knuckles from keep hitting the board !!!!
