Yeah someone mentioned that on my first drawing but I actually designed the knife around what needs are important to me and the look of the knife was un-important, it just turned out looking like that !
I think it is very hard nowdays to create a unique design, they are allways gonna resemble one knife or another. I think a Stomper rendition of this would be very cool though and still quite different !;):thumbup:
 
I'm by no means saying that you ripped off your idea from spyderco. Just as you say, there are so many knives out there that anything anyone draws will look somewhat like something already made.
 
Ok, my turn. I did a few because I kept thinking of different design once I was already sketching something esle.

I did not sketch this to scale, but my intentions were for it to be big. Good for chopping, hacking, and minor bushwhacking, but not too big that it would be cumbersome and useless back at camp.

Dang! This thread is getting good!

I've got to agree with you pit. It's really hard to make something new without looking like some fantasy knife. I like these smaller designs more and more in this thread. You can tell there's a lot of thought being put into them.
 
C bryant just solved my problem. I havn't played yet, since I have no idea how to make my drawings go from here to the computer. I'll just take pictures!
Now, to put my ideas down on paper...
 
Nice job c bryant. I really hope that #3 or #4 get made eventually. They are really cool designs.

hahaha, yeah I just scanned mine, pictures would work just as well.

Thanks guys, I'm surprised they scanned that clear with all the eraser marks on those pages!
 
Ok so this is my final draft of my design, I'm really pleased with this one so if it doesn't win I might have to get a quote off ya for making it me anyway John, LOL !!!!

Tell me about it. I don't have an eraser on the pencil I drew mine with anymore.
 
Saw the voting thread today and realized the contest ended yesterday, serves me right for not spending enough time on here:). I might as well post my rough sketches. Great stuff guys!
