Well looks like this is a new trend in the flipping of ricks knives! I recently purchased a 3" carbon fiber flipper and when it arrived today I was mortified ! This was advertised as NEW & NEVER CARRIED!!! It has been sharpened, it is dirty , the clip was switched to tip up(just proof that it has been carried) it has vertical blade play , and the locktite onthe pivot has been broken ( proof of disassembly)!!! I hope the seller makes this right!!! You be the judge!!

I wouldn't consider that blade "lightly used", let alone new--definitely looks well-used in the pictures. Unless the seller made a mistake by mixing up his knives, you've been scammed.

Do you have a link to the sales thread where you bought it?

That is definitely not in new condition. I hope the seller makes things right.

I do but I'll give te seller a chance tonmake this right. It was stated this was an unused double so maybe it was a mix up!

That is hardly a new knife.

I totally agree!!! And on top of poor communication after the purchase I'm very on edge about the whole thing !!! I hope I didn't over react by starting this thread but lack of disclosure like this is totally unacceptable in my eyes

I don't know if it is an edit, but the seller says in his post...

This is a brand new Gen3 that I built as a spare and it hasn't seen any carry or use.

So I wouldn't be surprised that the loc-tite and clip are tampered with, but it does beg the question, why was it "built" by him if it is "new".

But that blade definitely looks used; not "lightly used" either. :thumbdn:

So you suggest the Buyer to shutup and sit there with an inferior knife?
I think he is expressing the opinion that the buyer should give the name of the seller prior to/or possibly regardless of whether the seller makes it right. Of course, I may be wrong but that is how I interpreted the post.

There is merit to both sides. Waiting prevents harming a sellers reputation over what may be an innocent mistake. Conversely, posting the seller's name immediately would allow buyer's to determine if mistakes are common to a particular seller.

Personally, I think it's better to allow a seller to remedy what may be an honest mistake before posting their name or userid. I think it may also be a forum rule. But since I don't buy and sell on the forum, I haven't checked.

I never even saw the word built!!! I read it as bought!! But the seller also said it was bought new from his dealer !

Here is the OP:

Hi,

This is a brand new Gen3 that I built as a spare and it hasn't seen any carry or use. I received a Gen II non-flipper for Christmas so I can afford to sell one of my Gen3.

Blade: 3" Flipper Gen 3 Stonewashed
Lock : Stonewashed
Scale: Smooth Carbon Fiber

It was bought new from polizeibedarf.de but it didn't came with a box.

Price: 600$ shipping included in Canada/USA. Paid via paypal personal tab.

624$ shipping included in Canada/USA if paid via paypal non personal.

Also the post was edited after our deal and mynpayment was sent!!! Kinda fishy!!!

My thinking was 1) give the seller a chance to fix a possible mistake. 2) threatening to disclose the sellers identity might be the only leverage left to resolve this if it was not a mistake.

Of course not, A knife being sold as "NEW & NEVER CARRIED!!!" should be obviously that.

Maybe Personal contact with at least a 1 day grace period for the seller to get back to the buyer.

In a manner of speaking: Seller 1, Buyer 0... i guess was my point

Are you kidding!!! Grace period ??? The seller lied up front about the condition of the knife!!! The grace period is me not outing him right now !!!

Btw ... It's been like 5 hours since I tried contacting the seller , with no response !!

My guess is that he mistyped 'built' when he meant 'bought' -- as you noted earlier, 'built' makes no sense, especially when he claims that he bought it new a few lines down.

And to echo what everyone else has said/state the obvious, that's not even close to a new knife that you got, and you're definitely not overreacting by posting this thread.

EDIT: Also, I'd say just go ahead and post his name. Anyone who googles a few sentences from the item description can easily find the sales thread/seller anyway.

I would have "outed" his name in the title of the OP, to make it somewhat even, maybe hes gonna be at work till 4AM tonight and doesn't have the luxury of sitting by a computer threw-out the day

heck im sure you got his address, send him a letter or 2 if you think hes ignoreing you already

Sometimes people are busy and not siting right in front of a computer.

People agree, the knife is used and either the seller is bad or he made a mistake. Give him a day to reply and take it from there.

Other then that, I see no reason for everyone else to be clogging the thread up.

Depending on where the guy is or what his lifestyle is like, he may not be able to respond right away. I'd give it a day, let yourself calm down but the guy is going to have to face the music...

Kinda a scummy move if you ask me...

You guys are right !!! I really need to stop stressing , and stop looking at this thread for the night :D I'll feel better in the morning lol!!!
