Another BAD Seller !!!

This sucks softrockrenegade!

I have bought NIB direct from "the Ranch" with no lock-tite in the pivot and read about others who didn't have it, so I don't see that as a problem.

Easy to see the sharpening and the clip change.

Your shot of the pivot's female side, for the spanner. The edges "look" a little buggered up. It's hard to say from that pic.

In regard to the blade - that's used all the way, as well as the tang shot which shows repeated opening and closing scuffs.

I hope this guy makes it right and I assume you're waiting on an answer right now?

It seems like whenever there's a hot knife - Hinderer, Strider, and Sebenza to a degree - there's always vultures around who apparently lie, mix and match parts from more than one knife, take pictures at angles & lighting to hide flaws and generally feed on our desire to buy these quality knives.

I'd recommend to anyone reading, not to do business with members who don't have substantial post counts, and haven't been hanging around the sub-forums of the companies who make these knives or are "unknowns" so to say. If that makes sense? Just my $.02

:mad::mad: It pisses me of to see the seller location. Like if it wasn't already hard enough to have some business done with the US without that kind of shit happening :grumpy::mad::barf:

Poor communication = bad deal

This new should have been advertised as a sharpened, carried, modified lightly used XM.

Should not have been advertised as it was. $624 should have bought a better XM

Agreed, its not looking good. Remember your gut is almost always right. I would post his name and see if another member has any input that may help -like past dealings, alternate contact methods, etc. Sorry that you have to put up with this.

I dont feel right about posting the sellers name until I hear back from him! I'm sure everyone who really wants to know can find out on their own and I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt for a little bit longer :/

the clip was switched to tip up(just proof that it has been carried)

The knife is obviously not new. But I had a XM safe queen for almost a year that I switched to tip up but never used/carried. ;)

Price: 600$ shipping included in Canada/USA. Paid via paypal personal tab.

624$ shipping included in Canada/USA if paid via paypal non personal.

Did you pay the $624 for "goods" or $600 "personal tab".........sorry if I missed the answer to this already.

If you paid $624 for "goods" you can open a claim in paypal and possibly get some $$ back. It has worked for me in the past on items received in different condition than stated on the bay. I have gotten hefty partial refunds on a couple occasions in the past 10 years.

If you paid $600 for "personal"............you don't have any help and are most likely screwed if the seller doesn't respond.

Hopefully the seller will make it right or you paid $624 for it.

On a side note: I'll take the scale if you want to part it out. :D

I know the clip isn't a deal breaker , but everything adds up!

I never pay personal or gift just so i have a paper trail , but that is good info in case this doesn't get worked out civilly ...

That depends on how the payment was funded. If he paid normal, no problem. Plus, a credit card company will freeze those funds immediately if a button was pushed either way accidentally and he got screwed on the purchase. TheNick hasn't been on the board for a week, maybe he's on vacation and not checking his email.

NEVER pay with the "personal" method on Paypal.

Never.

Never ever ever ever ever.

Doing this is saying that you agree to send them money and get nothing in return. And a lot of times, that's exactly what happens.

People who demand to be paid only by the "gift method" are sending up a very big red flag. If they are so willing to cheat Paypal, they're much more likely to turn around a cheat you.

I'm either too stoned  or not intelligent enough  to decipher what you just said.

Probably too stoned. You sound pretty smart. :D

A credit card will freeze funds on a disputed transaction immediately if you report that you were shafted in any way. Of course you'll tell your side when they mail you a dispute form and they'll tell their side in response to the dispute. PP doesn't have a very strong "rep" for standing up to credit card disputes either, in most cases freezing the account immediately and going after the party in question.

Trust me from years of online business and years of selling on eBay. Credit card companies hold all the aces. :)

There was a hint in my prevous post for those who send a gift - not funded by a credit card. softrockrenegade posted while I was typing and given that he didn't send it as a gift, my post was superfluous.

You should be pissed, that knife is not only used, but sharpened by an imbecile who does not know that it is the edge that needs to be sharpened, not the side of the blade.
Since I don't trust iTrader anymore after seeing many bad sellers get away without a negative feedback (and some of their victims get stuck with a negative), I will put TheNick on my ignore just to make sure I never deal with him in the future.

That's exactly why iTrader does not work, many buyers are wary to use it because they fear retaliatory negative feedback. Other times, an agreement is reached and the bad seller avoids the negative feedback. I don't know, maybe you should ask a mod for advice.

Thanks for the warning. I wish you the best. Not much ticks me off more than a person misrepresenting a knife in order to maximize da monies.

I would be happy if I got enough of a refund to send it back to the ranch for a complete spa treatment !!! Still a nice knife but not what I thought i paid for !!
