Another BAD Seller !!!

I'm sure Spark or one of the mods can help you out if the douche bag seller decides to give you a negative.

Nick emailed me today and explained what happened! A partial refund to cover a trip to the spa will be issued and I am now happy !

Care to elaborate? I mean, it's all good that he's giving you money to send it in for spa treatment after he got called out, but it doesn't change the fact that it was misrepresented in the first place. So was it somehow a mistake or was it clearly misrepresented?

So why not just swap the knife you were supposed to get for the knife you got? Or did someone else already get a good deal?

Bottom line is I'm happy with the deal now , I paid 550 originally and with the partial refund I don't feel like I got a bad deal !

I can't see the photos at work, so I don't know if this is considered a "pimped out" XM-18 or not. Are the scales factory or aftermarket? I know Rob states in the FAQ that they will not work on any XM-18's that have been pimped, to include aftermarket, non-Hinderer scales. I only ask since this is supposedly a knife the guy built. Just wonder if they'll even do a spa treatment for you. Might want to contact Rob unless the knife is the way it came from Hinderer.

It's a stock carbon fiber gen 3 , i don't believe it was built I think he ment to type bought.

If I'm not mistaken leaving negative feedback out of spite is a bannable offense. So if he does it will be corrected and he'll get banned.

Getter done.

That is my whole problem with a lot of these threads. A disgruntled buyer posts on here (maybe for cause), and everyone jumps on the seller like he is the scum of the earth without giving him a chance to respond. People have lives outside of knives and people also make mistakes. In the age of the Internet and "instand" communication, people get all freaked out if they send an email and don't get a respond in 10 minutes. There was a time where I sold 2 knives at the same time and accidentally mixed up the mailing addresses. That same day I went on a week-long hunting trip. A lot of you would have called me a dbag/scum/whatever and came to your cute little conclusions before you knew what happened. Everything was fixed as soon as I was aware of the problem. I like that the OP/Buyer didn't disclose the seller's name at first...people have mixups. This forum shouldn't be for slamming...it should be for resolving problems and bringing attention to a troubled transaction/party after all the facts are known.

Or you can look at it from another angle: the seller only mans up after he has been exposed and out of fear of getting a negative feedback. Mixing up knives is a lame excuse, by the same token he could have also badly packaged the knife, causing even more trouble. I think that when you sell a knife for that kind of money, especially considering it is $200 above the price Rick charges for his knives, the least you can do is act responsibly and professionally.

My beef wasn't with the OP...it was with all the posts trashing the seller subsequent to the original post (within minutes).

Built, bought $624, $600 or $550

The buyer and seller are now happy so DONE DEAL

You have no way of knowing whether or not the seller is telling the truth with regard to his claim of shipping the wrong knife. He may very well be saving face in light of the OP's post. Are you not guilty of the very same behavioral response you rail against?

The seller had been absent from the board for 5 days after the sales was made - if you check into peole's profiles. By the time he was in touch it around 8 or so. And how do you mix up $600 knives by accident?

Guilty of what? Disliking the fact that someone calls someone they don't know a dbag after one person makes a claim of a troubled transaction? I don't care who was in the right or in the wrong...I just think people could show a little more tact in this forum.
