Another Giveaway Contest!

what's the chain going around the pine tree in one of your photos? for your dog?

I'd totally enter if I had an RC-6...yet. Gonna' grab one this summer though!

I wondered if anyone would see that. I assumed it was to tie up a boat, but I've never seen one there. It's still locked up with a rusty old Master Lock, and is just more junk in the woods now. It's loose enough that the tree has many more years to grow into it. LOL

I saw the chain and also wondered if it was for your dog, but it seemd too far away and looks like she/he was roaming free for the majority/all of the pics.

If I owned a RC6 I would have built a shelter for sure! But I don't and so is life. I have a Fehrman knife. and a bunch of machetes. I want to win just don't have the spare cash for anything extra right now, as I was laid off. I may end up having to build one to live in if things don't get better.:(

BTW: Once I'm back on my feet I plan on buying an RC6. I would want the kydex/plastic sheath model, living in the Sub-Tropics it stays wet a lot. We just got about 18-20 inches of rain this week! I'm in Florida right now, well for most of my life and I like the Vegetation. I spent some years in California and basically did survival trips in the Emigrant Wilderness next to Yosemite National Forest. I did a lot of trips into Yosemite, but all of the National Forest Rules applied, no shelter building, fires, or even handguns for protection, or plinking.
I would love it if there was a 9-10" bladed RAT model, I would get a couple of those.

I'd like an rc-6 too, but I just got an rc-5 because it's under the blade limit for Texas (5.5 inches), awesome, and had everything i could have dreamed of in a survival knife. I had a really awesome african simi-knife (it's a double bladed machete with a red buffalo hide handle and sheath that i got from a masai warrior/tribesmen), but my ex got her dirty little hands on it. Looking at the quality and craftsmanship of RAT knives :jerkit: , I think a machete or something similar to a simi-knife would really be popular and provide a great product for those in need/want. With rat's jungle-training, I'm surprised they don't already have one, but it's impractical to carry a machete around unless you are actually planning on going into the jungle/bush.

nice shelter btw. i might have to make one when i go hunting with my rat-5

Welcome to the family! As a note, the ":jerkit:" is not a chin-scratching smily, but rather intended as a rude gesture. It causes some confusion, however, as your post exemplifies. ;)

You can have a larger blade in Texas than 5.5 inches, but you need have a specific purpose for having it with you - hunting, camping, etc. The legal limit is for street carry basically. They don't want gangs carrying swords in the street.

Halfway through the contest and only one entry? C'mon guys, where's your competitive spirit? :)

Me and my son are working on a shelter but life,a job and the farm keep's getting in the way of our fun, but we should get it done in time.

good luck when it rain's lol u have like a millions sick sticking up and rains gonna crawl down them right into your shelter i would also put alot more stuff on it but other then that good lob

No you're not screwed as previosuly mentioned. The legal limit for normal everyday carry is 5.5 inches; however, you can have a longer blade if you're doing an activity that requires such a blade (hunting, fishing, camping, survival practice, zombie hunting).
I wasn't trying to be rude ...I was complimenting RAT on their excellent knives :o

I'd have made 3 shelters by now, but unfortunately, I have a job in the middle of the city. I wish I had a nice rc-6 to go with that beautiful sheath :)

cool bro Welcome ,sorry my Attempt at humor sucks on the blade length,I knew the law ;) but most peeps freak out if you pull out any FB over 5"....that I just dont understand....
