Another one of my BM's edge is toast.

why? think of it this way. If you had used any other knife in that exact same scenario, the damage would have been 10 times worse. Chris Reeves, not any of his knives, come close to INFI, not even within 20%. So get it fixed and be glad because any other knife would have broken much worse....

Something to consider......no matter how big and bad one thinks they are....there is always someone out there who will teach you otherwise. :eek:

I'd be careful on the challenges...there happen to be some really BIG doods on this forum...you just might regret paying for your own a$$ whoopin:thumbup:;) besides that...this isn't UFCBUSSE.com :thumbup:

Some people have more brand loyalty then others. I guess you are one of them. Heck you advertise your "pork name" in every post. I personally have little brand loyalty.

I am a "consumer" and not a "shareholder". So I am just reporting my own experience. I get no monetary gain whether Busse is making a profit or taking a loss. I am just a end user. I've never been a follower and always a leader. I guess some people just cannot do that.

privateisland, Yes most of us who post here have some loyalty to Busse knives... But these aren't all we use. I just read this entire thread and it has been mentioned several times that you should reach out to Busse Combat and see about having your knife's edge inspected for defect and resharpened if none is present. I'm sorry that you have a problem with your knife.

As I've just said, we are a loyal bunch... But not without good reason. I have not found another type of steel yet that takes a lickin' so well, and if the edge actually dents or rolls, one that take less to fix back into a working edge. I have chopped through a very thick bough, and being my first real use of a BM, I struck many glancing blows against some very hard seasoned oak, without so much as he beginning of a roll. When I finished, it was as sharp as when I had started. I'm thinking that maybe something is not right about your knife, and that either it is a fluke, or you did hit something that any knife edge wouldn't respond well to, and very many would have suffered much more damage than yours.

There are many threads/posts from Busse users that have repeatedly shown that they are "nuclear tough". They are not "indestructible", but neither is anything else.

We are not here to attack you... You were given advice on what to do [call Busse @ (419) 923-6471)] but you seem to want to make us all now follow you away from Busse... We will not based on a rare circumstance... Much rarer than ones showing how good these knives really are. Sorry! ...Furthermore, to then attack us and say that we are attacking you purely based on our "investments" is not going to get you anywhere... My knives will sell regardless of anything you post here. The economy will eventually recover, and items like knives will again be afforded... Actually, many are still selling despite things getting tighter. You were given positive replies, but you have kept with the negative responses, and then you were met with negative posts based on your negativity. What do we owe you? Nothing. What does Busse owe you? Well, if the damage wasn't intentional, then they owe you either a new knife IF yours has a manufacturer's defect, or a resharpened edge. That's it. So you can experience a heckuva good warranty in progress... Or you can continue to whine.

I don't often take time to post, but for me the line has been crossed.

Kind/polite suggestions were made to send the knife to Busse Combat for warranty service/evaluation....no response.

It was pointed out that dirt, rocks etc are ABRASIVE and BAD for cutting edges.....again nothing meaningful, just "I'm disappointed"....It may be just me, but that feels like someone is just looking for a predetermined reaction so they can say "see? I told ya!"

Out comes an "analysis" of behavior that seems vaguely accusatory (protecting name brand for investment security purposes)

Last but not least, a personal challenge to a complete stranger and name calling...

Kudos to you who have displayed patience and made an effort to be helpful.

if you showed the whole scan people could get an idea of the size of the dings. Blowing up a tiny blurry section doesn't show much if anything.

By the way, you are starting to smell like a troll with your posts.

So, as I have mentioned before I am new to the whole busse thing. I have a couple of my own and I have to say that they are indeed good knives. BUT! What I am witnessing in this forum is really disappointing. What I would like to say to privateisland, is, yes some people in this forum are too much into the busse knives. Indeed it could be annoying, but this is why there is a special forum just for busse addicts and this is it!!! They don't drive around yelling that all the people should have busse knives. They have respect for other peoples choices, hence the forum. Thus, if you don't like busse knives as much as these people do, don't be a part of this online community. I am not the greatest fun either, that is why I am a registered member only, but I never disrespected anyone.
Anyhow, the post got too big and I would like to conclude by saying that I think that I moderator should lock this thread because it is really sad and as others stated before me, it has lost its purpose.

I think everyone is entitled to his or her opinion -There is a lot of hype about INFI ,MANY PEOPLE CONSIDER IT A SUPER STEEL .IT IS NOT ,BUT FOR ME IT IS THE BEST STEEL IN OVERAL PERFORMANCE.- You should read more carefully what I wrote.ALL THE BEST
 
CSABACANADA.. is legit.. he has talked to me about this on several emails,, we have discussed INFI and other knives....... i think he is just offering a opinion!! just picked hostile environment to do it in....
