Here is what I think is my earliest NYK pickbone. I think the bolsters and liners are steel. Would love to find more NYK's with this bone.

Liking the jigged bone on that one a lot Charles !!! :thumbup::thumbup::)

This knife was made by NYKC and the tang stamp was ground off on both blades. The main was re-stamped "EAGLE" "PHILA." You can see the "H" in Hammer and part of the arm that was once there. I don't know why this was done?

The George F. Creutzberg Co. bought factory seconds (1875 to 1943) and made knives with these parts. The knives were stamped EAGLE PHILA. Knives marked this way have been seen over stamped many names including: Primble ISW, OVB, Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co, Marshall Wells Hdw, New York Knife Co. to name a few. All this info is from GOINS ENCYCLOPEDIA. Yours is a nice knife. This could be the start of a new target collection of Eagle over stamped knives. They are not easy to find, but they are out there. Barry just called me about this thread and told me I should post these NYKs. It's dark and I don't have good lighting so these pics are just a tease, I'll try to get better photos and photos of the blades open showing the tang stamps and hammer etches tomorrow in daylight. Can't seem to find my little NYKs, I'll have to hunt around for those too. It is sweet to see all the nice products of Walden here!!

Very attractive knife, Charles. :thumbup::thumbup:
I'm going to show my ignorance in the hope of learning something new. What is the blade with the grooves called, and what's its intended purpose? Some kind of file? Thanks.

Fantastic knives Charles , Mark, and Barry, they really run the gamut.

Gunsil, seriously, two of them??!? :eek::thumbup::D Whoa, just noticed you're from my neck of the woods, feel free to drop one off :D
