Fantastic Eric! Are you at a Museum?

If that is your book I would love to see what's inside!

Here is a NYKC Hammer Brand Barlow with a long pull. I have only seen the main blades with crescent nicks.....

Eric, Super Knives & NYK documents. How do you find this stuff? Here's an old Lock Back Half Whittler. These pics have been posted a few years back but I think they are appropriate for this thread. It's 3 7/8" closed.

Man, awesome knife! If I could have a custom knife consigned tomorrow, that would be the pattern. Never seen the likes of that before, thanks for sharing.

Barry that's a real carpenter's knife, what a beauty!! Those old lockbacks are amazing, quite a bit of engineering in the backspring area.

Eric

Fantastic stuff, Eric! Mark, if you want to find a book like that one, you might need to go to the OKCA show in April.:D Not saying it will be there but it is the best show in the country for older knives!

Eric, I've always felt this knife belonged to a carpenter in a past life. It was well taken care of and kept razor sharp. I thought when I first acquired this knife, that it was a "special order" if there was such a thing back then. But after some time searching, I found this knife in a Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co. catalog. I believe all of the knives in the catalog were NYK made knives. To this day I have never seen another one of this pattern. I'm sure it's not one of a kind. Barry

Another great thread, Rob (I'm kinda behind the times :) ). Some really beautiful NYKCo knives from everyone!

This one still has a faint "Hammer Brand" etch, although it doesn't show up in the photo.

It's probably not Barry, but then again I'd imagine most of it's brethren were used to nubs and tossed out. Heck I'd never even heard of the NYK scimitar until Mike showed me his beauty.

Here's a George Worthington giveaway knife with its G. Worthington box . They were a big customer of NY Knife company back in their heyday:
