A lot of WOW to my eyes from everyone - the Eureka Jack is just stunning !!!:thumbup::eek::)

I had a grease fire in my kitchen tonight and am just now getting everything cleaned up. I am LUCKY to still have a house and knives and kitties !!! My right hand is burned and I threw the flaming pan out the side door and almost caught my car on fire. :o:o

Another lesson learned for Primble! Don't fool around on Blade Forums when frying pork chops! :o:o

Here is the Schrade graphic that I found and cleaned up. This is the small version. I have a very large version.: ;)

This would make a nice background for a display as well, IMO. If anyone needs the large file, I can fix you up! :D

That looks great Primble! I like the red colored lettering

Man, I'm glad you're okay! Scary stuff my friend!

Holy smokes Primble!!! Pardon the pun...Nanc and I had Pork Chops and baked potatoes tonight with nowhere near the excitement:o

Glad your ok (kind of) & hope your hand heals quickly:thumbup:

What a fun thread to read through. Great information, terrific photos and some amazing knives. Primble referenced NYKCo possibly making some of the John Primble India Steel Works knives for Belknap Hardware, so I thought I'd add an old Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett & Co. OVB that I feel confident was made by NYKCo. Anyone see a family resemblance to Gev's New York Knife Co. Eureka Jack? ;) :)

Primble - sorry to hear about the mishap and I hope your hand is okay. I knew fried food was suppose to be bad for you, but I had no idea just how dangerous that stuff could be. ;) Again, I hope you're okay.

Yes Stephen, that is definitely a mate to Gevo's Eureka. Beauty  Cocobolo or Rosewood?

Nice Gevo. That looks to be pre 1900 and it's in great shape. Thanks for posting it.
My pleasure, sir! Thank you.

Boy that Eureka has some really fine looking ebony with lots on grain in it!
Perry
It really comes out in direct sunlight. Thanks, Perry

Oh, that's a beauty Gev:thumbup: you combine a great knife like that with "the stump" and it's pure magic buddy:)
Very much appreciated, my friend! Wonderful pictures of your beauty. It so nice to get to see different angles and closeups!!

Another excellent graphic, Primble! But...not good new about the hand:eek: Tell me its gonna be OK? So sorry to hear this!!!

Stephen
Just saw your post....holy smokes that's a stunner. Such perfection. Do I think....absolutely!!

Yikes!
Hope your hand isn't too bad Primble! Glad the kitties, house and car survived!! And the knives!!!!!:eek:

I turned 70 last year, and have slowly been giving up multitasking! No fire, but 2 years ago I left some water running and answered the phone!! Good thing I have a wet-vac!

Fire - flood - locusts anyone??:p

That was my exact menu Paul !!! I was waiting for the oil to heat up and walked over to my computer for what I thought was about a minute and heard a whoosh!!!

I looked over my shoulder and flames were shooting to the ceiling. I could not believe how fast it was out of hand !!!:eek::grumpy:

When I grabbed the handle and decided to get it out of the house, I sloshed the flaming grease out of the pan and a big spot on the ceramic tile floor was burning as I headed to my side door. When I opened the door, the flames went crazy and that is when I burned my hand. I will be OK on a day or two. All the grease from the pan is on my carport now. Tomorrow is outside cleanup.

When I came back in to check on the spot burning on the floor, it had gone out. Just a huge mess to clean up. Dinner was good, however. :)

I had to run my attic fan for thirty minutes.

My Anniversary Charlow was about 4 feet from the fire. I guess I will have to de-soot it tomorrow too.

Thank you for all the comments - never too old to learn lessons. :o

That is a nice Schrade Graphic, Rob!!
Anyone know how to print it straight onto metal (10ga steel)?

This is a great thread and I have a few I can post now. NYKCo knives are my personal favorite to collect.

Yes Stephen, that is definitely a mate to Gevo's Eureka. Beauty  Cocobolo or Rosewood?

Mark - to be honest, I'm not sure but my best guess is Cocobolo.

Gev - thank you! When I first acquired that one I was excited to think I had something really 'unique', but was even more excited to learn that you had its twin. :)

Get well soon, Primble! Hope the burns don't interfere with opening your slipjoints!

I had been eating a lot of soup lately and was really looking forward to that pork chop and baked potato!!!:grumpy::grumpy::D

:D:D:D

My hand pain has calmed down quite a bit and it made me think of Lyle's accident last summer, when he was laid up. :o

It just looks like it is really sunburned and is not blistered, thank goodness. :) Lyle was not that lucky with his foot.

Probably no Primbleizing for a few days. :D:D

Anyone know how to print it straight onto metal (10ga steel)?

Charlie - I am going to make the larger file into a display file to print, in the next few days. I will try to get Photobucket to take the larger file and anyone can use it for whatever they want. Printing directly to the steel would be awesome - maybe a metal sign printing company could do it?:confused:

I will try to post it in this thread when done.

Beautiful knives Stephen and Charles!!!
