Here's a rarity, a New York Knife Co 3 1/2" jack in stag, pattern # 29776, don't see very many early American made knives in stag.

The richness of that Stag, colouration and it having been worked without grinding off pieces to fit the bolster. wonderful Stag, almost Tortoiseshell in hue.

Hi Eric. My guess is clip but it broke where the long pull was cut in.

Mark it looks to me, judging by those parts, that it was a whittler pattern. Those two blades would be the small secondaries but the main blade is missing altogether.

I think you're right Eric. The blade that's broken has a nail nick not a long pull.

These are Primblesque type pictures in content not quality

My NYKC "Hammer Brand" #6030 EO Jack---somehow I feel this one won't be with me very long SOLID full blades and (to me) outstanding bone. Searched for one like this for a looooong time---as many say the "Hunt" was the most fun

faint etch on main Spear blade...

Such a fine example of yesteryear.

Six years later, I still cherish my purchases of these old knives, which are getting nearly impossible to find now days, within reason.

I suggested to you that you might regret turning them loose, back then.

They get fine care and lots of love here, and they won't be departing this territory anytime soon.

I was thinking more along the lines of "please send me the knife I sent you so it can be back with family members".

Hate to say "I told you so, but, I told you so". Did you get good use out of the shop tools you wanted when you sold your knives ?

Well - if you only have one, you certainly acquired a fine example. New York Knife Company made a lot of contract knives for the old hardware companies. That is pretty obvious.
