Any custom knife resemble a Strider SNG/SMF,, besides Hinderer?

Again, so basically nobody knows of any other maker that makes a knife that is similar to Hiderer or Strider. That is remarkable to me because there are so many makers and none can sell their knifes as well as them..

They obviously aren't as smart as you.

Darrell Ralph, Todd Begg, Pat Crawford. No trouble selling knives, similar technology, unique designs. No need and too much honor to copy someone else's look.

Go to True North Knives, look up custom makers by name, and browse the designs to see what you like.

NO ONE here wants to give you the dishonest, copycat, fake Strider look you're asking for. I think there are a few importers of Chinese factory knives who could help you.

let me see, i'm lost, you like the strider design, and know the hinderer is very similar, and you think another 'smith should copy them?

why? if ya like the design why not buy the strider or hinderer?

FWIW most 'smiths come up with there own stuff and have little/no interest in copying others intellectual property, and since not 1 but 2 'smiths already make the design, why crowd things even more? imho they would sell less not more, maybe i'm missing something lol..............

if they are too expensive get the buck strider, if ya want a true custom get the hinderer, or if ya want the original get the strider, if ya just want a rough use knife look at extrema ratio or airkat,

Have a look at Yuna knives. Not copies of either Strider or Hinderer, but his own very distinctive designs using the same principles/elements.

I went to Subway, and asked them they could make me a meal made with pieces of bread; one on the bottom, with cheese, meats, and veggies layered on top, and covered with the second piece of bread. But I did not want a sandwich. I made it very clear to them. Bread on the bottom, cheese, meats, and veggies, with bread on top, but not a sandwich. But unfortunately all they had were freaking sandwiches, so I left to go find a Pita Pit.

Try looking at Eric Elson ESP. Similar construction and design. Similar price range. Are you looking for copy cat at much lower price ?

The word is knives. And it is Hinderer, Rick Hinderer. You clearly do not know the custom market, if you think custom makers don't sell as well as Strider, you are wrong.

Also honorable knife makers DO care about NOT copying exact designs of other makers, as that is stealing. Unlike you, a lot of us DO care things such as that.

Well sir, I guess I am a thief that can't spell either.

No reason to get personal. I was just asking a question about KNIVES. I have Sebenzas and Striders. I am not looking for a cheaper knife. Just thought there might be something out there that is easier to get than a Dick Hinderdererererer.

Eric Elson makes the Dreadlock which I felt the design was influenced heavily by Strider.

Well it is amazing to me that no custom maker will take the same principles as Strider. Maybe that is why we pay the price Striders command. They are all alone in their class.

If i was a maker I would take a close look at Strider. After all, Strider copied the Hole from spyderco and the liner lock from CRK, so why not take what strider does (or Hinderer) and be successful?

Most of those custom knife makers will still have their knifes sitting on the table after the Blade show is over. So duh!??

I haven't seen a Strider with a round hole opener....
The framelock idea has been used just about everywhere.....

What are you saying they copied? If you're talking about tank like folder construction, I'd say Strider and Hinderer do it best, but there are a lot of other great knives out there. Spyderco Manix/Chinook are both overbuilt folders that come to mind.

Well you know what i mean. The hole may not be round but it works the same way.

I had the Chinnok and Manix and sold them.

Thanks

Take a look at Crusader Forge. They make some dang chunky knives. Not so much a strider copy but a robust design in it's own right. They use .20" S30V blades, and like 3/16th thick Ti frame locks. I want one next. I have a Strider AR that I recently fot from a member here and love it. But those Crusader Forge folders seem really nice. Expensive, but nice.

first of all TKC is a female.

and you started this lame thread and you are the one who cant spell. if you are going to continually reference a maker in high demand, you could at least spell his name correctly.

giving TCK crap for pointing this out is unecessary.

FWIW the whole framelock/linerlock thing was started by a guy named Michael Walker. Duh.

It's seems that all the pictured knives do tread into the intellectual property waters of copying the grooved back on the handle, something Strider has made a very distinctive part of their design. And yet, they weren't the first - the Camillus Marine issue knife has had a grooved grip for 50 years. Kabar copied it.

Heavy use duty knives abound by many makers, always have. If you're looking for a particular style however, that's pretty much a bling thing - two knives with similar construction, ergos, and materials can look vastly different.

If there were such a knife, expecially if it was a custom maker, and priced for it's market demand, the smart buyers would be snapping them up and keeping quiet about it - so they could sell them for more NIB next year when the 15 minutes of fame hits and every wannabe knife flicker suddenly wants to pony up megabucks to prove he's the man.

"Can somebody find my knife?" posts are really "Can somebody spoon feed me so I don't have to find the advertising of knifemakers trying to reach clueless buyers like me?"

Oh Jeez, the hate is strong on this thread.:jerkit:
