Any good small edc fixed blade reccomendations?

the Bradford Guardian3 is within $10 of your top line, but it does come with M390 steel and is a better slicer than almost any other knife its size I've owned. You should be able to find one under $150 on the exchange.

The Guardian 3 is available for a lot less in ordinary steel (N6__). Bark River has a wide range of small models. The Bravo Necker 2 has a thin slicy blade, about 7" total length.

Spyderco Bill Moran. Super light weight, stainless, thin, slicey, great ergos, bolatron sheath with g-clip allowing a variety of carry options out of box, under your budget, comes in drop point or upswept, readily available, and just all around a fantastic cutting tool.

Definitely check out the custom knife maker's exchange. There are a lot of awesome blades on there and it's always nice to have something made by hand. :)

Dpx gear Hest II. Good solid knife good steel. Pry bar on end is great too. Love mine carry often

Agreed, bladeforums has some damn good makers.

Surprised at the prices of some of these production fixed blades, they are more than folders for a simpler construction and basic carbon steel. I looked into battle horse knives, I remember when they were blind horse knives and you could buy them at local gun shows for under $70, now they are closer to $200. Same with bark river, I paid way less for my north star years ago than they are goin for now.

Don't want a pry bar so thick knives like the dpx hest don't fit my needs at the moment. Any experience with the tops Scandi Trekker?

I have an older RAT-3 in D2 that would be a very nice EDC blade. Would not trade it for nothing!

I have gotten all of these in the last 5-6 weeks here on BF. All made by custom knife makers that are members. Prices ranged from $79 to $135. Top quality knives from great guys!

^^^ that is a perfect example of some high-quality blades being hand-made and sold right here on the forums. I'd recommend browsing the custom makers sale page for sure.

KingMC is right... AND from the Evergreen State... 2 for 2 !

Bradford Guardian 3 is great. You should be able to find one in your price range handily.

If you just want to get yourself packing a Fixie, the A.G. Russell Woodswalker will only run you 25-ish bucks. It's AUS-8, which I find just fine in a small knife, and you can get it with a kydex neck sheath or a leather pocket sheath. Hell, you could order both sheaths and still be under two $20 bills.

I don't have a Companion... looks like I'm gonna have to indiegogo myself into one.

The Street Beat Lightweight is <$100 on Knifecenter, so that might be better suited to your budget. I've never handled one, but the grip is similar to other knives I've used, and, as has already been pointed out, Perrin knows a thing or two about ergonomics.

Not that I'm a White River salesman or anything, but out of curiosity, what didn't you like about the Backpacker/Caper? It seemed to fit your specs and price range almost to a T.

If you want a end all, be all small fixed blade... look me further... Strider knives DB. Pretty much a small thick pry par with a crazy sharp edge. Won't be the best for food prep type slicing jobs but to me that's not what a good fixed blade is for. To me, they are for the heavy "dirty" work that you don't want to put your folder through. A+ in my book and I've been through most of the more popular brands.

But that's what he asked for. The Izula was too thick for him.

What is it with you sharpened slab guys? Knives are meant to cut.
