Any good small edc fixed blade reccomendations?

Mule team 22 = $70.00 or so. Scales $30-45 Halpern Titanium. Sheath: $15+ for leather. You can get "Custom" scales + Kydex for around $45 on the auction site. I have at two mules of different steels and love them, I accidentally ordered two of the latest (RWL34) so it might very well be on the exchange when I get back from camping in the rain this weekend LOL. I just ran the factory grind across a DMT XXF stone and it will tree top hairs. It's ridiculous. Its like CPM154 in it's properties. The other (MT 20) has a full polished edge from my Edge Pro. It's a lesser known steel but it still performs like a champ.

I have been on the same search as you, but mine has lasted about three years. I have spent a ton on custom and production 3.25"-3.75" fixed blades. It is a great size range for everyday use and I find it to be perfect for my backpacking/lighter camp duties as well. Other than getting a custom made for you, the best smaller production fixed blades I have found that fulfill all of my needs (and mirror yours) are the Bradford Guardian 3 and the Benchmade Steep Country. They see a lot of use, and I love them both.

It seems as if the Steep Country meets all of your criteria perfectly. You should check it out as I think it would suit you very well. It is not often mentioned or reviewed, but it is a great smaller fixed blade.

That steep country looks very nice, might have to pick one up sometime down the road.
Got my caper in the mail, loving it so far, in the field for about a month doing some tank training so it's going to be put through the paces. I will give a review after I get back to civilization.
 
I say spend the money and get the companion, great and perfect knife, have the first and getting the second generation!

I wish he would make a bit up scaled version of this knife. It looks a bit small but, its hard to tell. A 3.5inch version would be sweet. Any chance you could post a picture of it for size comparison next to another common EDC fixed like the Esee Izula/Izula 2, BK14/24, Bradford Guardian 3, Spyderco Street Beat, exc? Thanks:thumbup:
 
I am sorry I do not have those knives because I stuck with the companion but in the morning I can post a picture in my hand and next to a few other thinks like a custom knife I have and could even do an iphone

FYI his indigogo campaign ends in 7 hours. Not sure if he will take additional orders after that. Might be worth messaging him to find out if you are waiting until tomorrow to decide.

Thanks but, I just discovered this knife and haven't researched it fully yet. I will wait for the next batch if I decide to get one.

Here they are, one in hand, the next one is right next to pretty much a brand new length pencil and a custom Damascus knife I have, hope it helps!

Great pics! Don't know what else we could do to display comparisons. Perfect size for EDC in my mind.
 
Agreed the size is also perfect for me, if me or you thinks of something I can let your know or vice versa and try to see what we can do!
