Any good small edc fixed blade reccomendations?

Get a custom from Nick Groniger. This is mine, I get it in the mail tomorrow.

The handle is blue moon glow and black g10. Its thick as a SOB.

The EKT Companion is definitely one of the best things that has hit the market recently in this class. By far... It even outdoes somehow bigger knives like the White River Caper, the Spyderco Fred Perrin Street Beat and the Becker d'Eskabar (I have them all, love them all, use them all but the EKT Companion is on my neck everyday...). The Enzo FFG necker is a valuable contender though and the Fred Perrin Mini Bowie is the winner for lightweight... Choices, choices...

I get what you're saying here, & I want to agree personally, but I don't. I recently sold my Companion with about 4 sets of scales. I wanted to love it, as I do love my G.E. Chen Duty knife (the Companion is a collaboration with Chen), I love the blade shape...but when I actually tried to use the knife, I found the handle to simply be way too small/short....and I found the way the rear of the handle swelled out to be uncomfortable. And I suppose that's a dumb comment, as the knife is meant to be a small option, I guess it's just that I don't like knives that small. But ya, it is a fantastic knife & a lot of folks love it. I'm hoping he'll be able to make a lot more of them...last I looked, he was going thru a divorce & wasn't producing any new pieces....I hope that's changed.

Get a handmade one from the Knifemakers Market here on the forum.....and I'm not just saying that because I've got a couple in there.

No factory knife cuts like a well done handmade blade.

Regarding comfort in hand it's really difficult to make a handle that pleases everybody ! I have bigger hands myself (XL gloves) so I get your point of view. The fact is I use the Companion as a back up : I generally carry a 3.5" to 4" bladed knife as "do it all". And I really hope for Brian Evans to make the Companion's big brother ! Brian is back to knives, by the way : the Companion II is on its way (full flat grind and CPM20CV) and that should be a very nice knife, too (especially if the blade is a tad thinner). Should make for a more efficient slicer, hence less strength required and handle feels more comfortable...

I have always been impressed with Nightthaxan's lime cutters on the custom exchange, mostly the extended versions, or XL version with a slightly longer handle.

I would like to see him make a 3.5" version of this knife.
