Any Winkler fans?

Love the field knife. I'm still mad at myself for not picking one of those up when they were around. It and the hunting knife are two that I'd like to have someday.

My first Winkler was the BRH. When i was ready to buy another i was debating bigger or smaller as the BRH is in that middle ground of WK’s. Glad i went with the Field Knife (Daniels favorite so i’ve been told) and i love it.
I have been using the SD1 or Huntsman a lot as my EDC with an occasional appearance of my BRH. My Spderco Smock always riding shotgun.

Funny story. I was at my new local gun shop picking up a new Revolver and the owner spied my winkler and asked “Which one” i pulled it out and proudly showed him my BRH i was carrying in that dangler set up i’ve posted here.
He pulled his Winkler General that Winkler made exclusively for the Mast General stores here in NC.
I had looked at that knife but in the end bought the BRH as honestly i wanted the Winkler name on the knife. In hindsight that General i think is discontinued and probably a rare bird.

Rumor has it there is a new model coming out next month - a collab w/Kevin Estella.
Another rumor is the model replacing the Field/Camp knife is coming out as well.

Supposedly called the “Lost Lake”, whatever it’s called this is the one I’m looking forward to.

Ahh an LL? 😂 i look forward to possibly getting a Highland Hunter. Hopefully in a Tribal Walnut or Maple. Lost Lake will have to really be well just better than the HH.

New model is the Forest Edge, I like it a lot but have a SD1 and BHR so I won't be in a hurry to add one to the collection, currently have a Woodsman on order should be ready to ship in Mar-Apr.

Yes i have handled that knife at the Winkler Store. It’s very nice but the ones available had sculpted handles as i recall and size was too close to my Huntsman. Would be a very nice choice for your first Winkler though.
