Any Winkler fans?

Sheaths for outside knives (not knives I made) has always been a pretty big part of our business.

I've made quite a few for Winklers lately. Seems like the knives are becoming more popular:

Horsewright You may get even more interest after this Jack Carr series hits the air July 1st. He gives Winkler a lot of love in his books, and I imagine the demand for hawks especially, and likely knives also will go up with some on-screen appearances.

There's just something about those knives that's very hard to explain but just feels right the moment you hold it. An atavistic sensation of what a knife should be.

Winkers are the best. I have four axes and six knives. For me, the axes are just cool to have and do not get much use, but I use the hell out of my knives. The SD1 has been my go-to hunting knife for the past few years. I have a blue ridge hunter on order that will get some use this season. I like the traditional style of the knives, and as others have said, they just feel right in the hand.

I use my hunter ax way more than my belt knife. It is nice.

When you have an opportunity, could you post a picture of your SD1 side-by-side with some of the other Winklers you have (belt knife, the BRH you have on order)? For size reference..

Sure, here you go. Highland Hunter, Belt Knife, and SD1. I don't have the Blue Ridge Hunter yet, but it's supposed to be slightly smaller than the Belt Knife

Anyone own both or have owned the SD1 and a Bradford Guardian 3, I know the SD1 is .25" longer overall but how does it carry compared to the G3? I ask because I've started to EDC smaller fixed blades in my front pocket with a pocket sheath vs caring a folder and the G3 is about as large as I want to pocket carry.
