For me, I'm hooked on carrying a fixed blade.
So my perfect EDC knife is the BK-14.
I need to be able to carry it in a pocket sheath without sticking out, so 7" is the max total length.
I have small hands so the BK-14 is a 4-finger knife for me and maximizes usable blade length.
The ergos are awesome and I can use any grip I want to get real "finessey" if needed.
The steel strops up real easily and sharp too.
If I wasn't a "knife guy" that liked to carry multiple tools with me, a bugout would be a great single knife.
Even my Manly Wasp could be a great single knife - and it would be my choice, if I lived in Europe!
If I only carried folders, I would definitely rotate several through the primary EDC role.
But as it stands, all of my daily carry folders are niche, utilitarian specialty blades (SAK Electrician and Spyderco Salts), so I can't really justify carrying yet another all-purpose folder. That's ashame - because MOST knives are all-purpose folders
For fixed blades, for me, 7" total and 3.75" handle, a canted handle and a super useful drop point FFG checks all my boxes.
This thing is a tank that I'm not afraid to use HARD, when needed.
I'm going to be upgrading the zytel scales for a bit more of a quality feel and to renew our relationship.

There are lots of sexy 7.25-7.75" fixed blades that won't work for me.
I'd LOVE to see the BK-14 also available in N680 or LC200n and 3mm stock with a clip-point (Becker Pocket Bowie), for more humid and aquatic situations...

Even Sandvik 14c28N
EskaBowie??
I think this would be many ppls ideal EDC fixed blade.
