Anyone else disappointed to have found the perfect primary EDC blade?

Over the last eleven yrs on this forum, I've found quite a few holy grails...a few of which i've managed to hold onto...
CRK and Spyderco primarily, with a little bit of BM thrown in for good measure. Each has its own special points, and no folder sits at the absolute top of the heap.

"...the perfect primary edc blade"....right now.

I carried several handguns in my life, I thought they were the best which is why I carried them, and they were outstanding choices. As time went on J found something else that was better, at least for now. That doesn't mean there aren't several other fantastic handguns, and I'd still carry most of the ones I did, and something else if it comes along that appeals to me more for a given situation including EDC.

Your search will never be over, its just over for right now.

Glock 21 is all I'll ever need for my EDC in normal times. If the rioters get too crazy then I'll step it up.

Nah, that's never been a problem for me because I just buy what I like. A couple stand out as superior for EDC like the Spyderco Mantra 2 and the WE Knife Wisp. But I still carry a variety and just as importantly, fondle a variety. Hey, I like knives. If it were just about finding the "perfect" EDC I would have stopped long ago.

Hoping the Waypoint scratches the itch. So far I’ve carried a leek, mini grip, 0562, 0452, multiple variants of the 0450, Keen and a gent.

Still proud to own all of them, but each has an element that I felt could be improved. On the 0450 specifically, if the blade was a little thinner, it would likely be the answer for me.

For me, the perfect EDC is a 4-1/2 inch fixed blade, thin edge, flat grind, single guard, leather sheath. Might not work for everybody.....

And no, I wasn't disappointed to get it. Same with my carry .45. It was exactly what I wanted for that role.

Not disappointed that I've found it, just disgruntled that I can't get any more Mini AFCK's from Benchmade.

They ever do a sprint run on them I'm gonna have a drawer full.

I'm capable of liking different knives for different reasons and there's no way for any one knife to have all of the features I can appreciate. So I would probably never run into this sort of hierarchy problem.

The PM2.. was the last knife I bought about six years ago. This along with a Manix 2 CF S90V and a Sage 2 Ti... are what I carry depending on pants or shorts. My BM 710 M2 is in the safe. Every other pocket knife, aside from two Leathermans and an Ontario Rat 3.5 inch 1095 steel back country knife, have been sold. Honestly, there are some great knives these days.. but I am... content.

CRK Sebenza stands up as near perfect a blade for me. Spyderco Delica is a close second. I’m good with either of these any day.

For me, I'm hooked on carrying a fixed blade.

So my perfect EDC knife is the BK-14.
I need to be able to carry it in a pocket sheath without sticking out, so 7" is the max total length.

I have small hands so the BK-14 is a 4-finger knife for me and maximizes usable blade length.

The ergos are awesome and I can use any grip I want to get real "finessey" if needed.

The steel strops up real easily and sharp too.

If I wasn't a "knife guy" that liked to carry multiple tools with me, a bugout would be a great single knife.

Even my Manly Wasp could be a great single knife - and it would be my choice, if I lived in Europe!

If I only carried folders, I would definitely rotate several through the primary EDC role.

But as it stands, all of my daily carry folders are niche, utilitarian specialty blades (SAK Electrician and Spyderco Salts), so I can't really justify carrying yet another all-purpose folder. That's ashame - because MOST knives are all-purpose folders :D

For fixed blades, for me, 7" total and 3.75" handle, a canted handle and a super useful drop point FFG checks all my boxes.

This thing is a tank that I'm not afraid to use HARD, when needed.

I'm going to be upgrading the zytel scales for a bit more of a quality feel and to renew our relationship. :D:p

There are lots of sexy 7.25-7.75" fixed blades that won't work for me. :(

I'd LOVE to see the BK-14 also available in N680 or LC200n and 3mm stock with a clip-point (Becker Pocket Bowie), for more humid and aquatic situations... Even Sandvik 14c28N

EskaBowie??

I think this would be many ppls ideal EDC fixed blade.
