I don't have an issue with a "pre-designated waiting period", but when responses to email inquires appear to go responded to, the customer/buyer wonders what is happening.
In any business communication is key to customer confidence and repeat business, as well as referrals.

I'd send a PM, like he requested and maybe not do emails since they seem to not be reaching him.
 
The op can't send a pm due to his non paid status and several emails should be enough. As stated before emails aren't just lost anymore craftsman needs to start checking other folders I'd say op has done all he can atm. We are now seeing others saying emails aren't being responded to migraines or not he should answer not that hard enless he's living in a totally dark room for these bad headaches

Ahhhhh, apologies, all, I didn't catch that.

I know migraines can be totally debilitating if they are bad enough. Like, real migraines, not just bad headaches that people say are migraines.

Sorry for butting in. I hope all the issues are resolved.
 
I absolutely understand why customers worry when completion goes way over the promised time. With no response to emails, you're left helpless. But the one thing thst will not get your work completed is answering emails.

He has to stop to refresh his memory on your project, estimate where you are in line, and say something to let you know what's going on. In other words, he's not getting any work done. Never underestimate the power of email to eat up time. At least, if he does respond, don't try to turn it into an extended conversation.

I would suggest that a better way would be a Facebook page where he could post whose work just got done and should be in your hands within a week -- packing and mailing out. And a heads-up on whose work is up next.

I am a firm believe if you can't deliver in a timely fashion maybe he should close his books for a bit and catch up.
 
After 5 or more un answered emails, I have no clue what to do. I payed him around 2 weeks ago, and have not heard back from him. Very frustrating. When I first emailed him about the product he got right back to me. Now nothing, after payment was sent.
 
It's now been 4 to 5 months after initially being told by him "my current turn around time is 6 to 8 weeks", I've received nothing back.
Pitiful email responses, each month after I send 2 or 3 emails to him, I receive an email back saying "it's almost done", or "I finished it, I will send it out" or the one I received a week ago saying "Everything is done and going out today after work. I'll send pics after work also.

I have received nothing.

I received one email showing me what scales he was staring to put on, he had them partially made, they were the completely wrong materiel that we initially agreed to and then he had to start making them again.

I will be going to my bank tomorrow to start the process of getting my $41.80 sent to him Feb. 12th and my $75.00 March 6th returned back to me.
After speaking to both the fraud division of PayPal and my bank, I'm confident the money will be removed from his account and credited back to me.
I'll additionally file a postal fraud complaint with USPS as I retain all valid paperwork.

This guy is not to be trusted, I will have nothing but negatives to say to anyone thinking of sending him anything, particularly money.

Poor/no communication, headaches, family problems...excuses, excuses. This guy is starting to sound exactly like some of these other craftsmen we've unfortunately been reading about here in the GBU. :thumbdn:

You are smart to be taking action via PayPal & your bank. Hopefully public accountability will help Hilo either get his end of the trade, or his Spyderco PM 2 CF, back.
 
Another email received from Eric Yakush yesterday:

"Went out yesterday. Had some problems with the liner and one scale. I had to redo one side. I tried to send a pic of the tracking but it didn't work. I'll send you the tracking number in a few when I find the reciept"

He claims he "tried to send a pic (scan) of the tracking info" "but it didn't work"
Then claims "I'll send you the tracking number in a few when I find the reciept"

This is an email received 9 days ago:
"Everything is done and going out today after work."

Received nothing and no tracking #.

On my way to the Post Office now to file a postal fraud claim.

Lights sounds and electronics intensify the migraine and make it much worse. My migraines are really bad. Like I want to blow my brains out bad.
When I get the really bad ones that last for days sometimes week. I stay in my room and keep it dark. Turn off the lights and electronics. I pop migraine and sinus pressure pills til my stomach bleeds.
It's not a good thing. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I've seen lots of doctors and they have found "nothing wrong with me". No tumors or anything like that. They just keep giving me stronger and stronger pain mess to help me cope with it.

That's why the silence on the internet.

If electronics bother you so badly, you're time may be better used on PayPal, refunding the people you owe, or creating shipping labels on usps to return property you're holding onto, instead of browsing the exchange looking for deals. If you're not able to commit the time to you're work, then CLOSE YOUR BOOKS!

My sister suffers for terrible migraines so I know that you must be in hell, but taking people's money and not doing the work is only doing your reputation a disservice. It's already wrecked here on bladeforums, but you may still be able to retain your less knowledgeable Instagram customers.

My father in law owns, and I run a small job shop machine shop, and I can say that practices like yours are disgusting to see in any small business. Get your act together.

Some back story on my life and my family a little bit . My dad got killed when I was 8 years old . My mom had just got hired into a plant that everyone told her was a man's job and she had no business being there because of how hard the job was .

She had me and my sister though and was now a single mother . She worked 12 hour nights to provide for my sister and myself . She too suffered from migraines all her life ,she was prescribed pills , even an oxygen mask lot of times when she wasn't working she had to stay in a dark room with no sound and all that. I remember all the er trips she made .

I remember the surgeries she had because she had tumors in her sinuses but the migraines never stopped with her ,but guess what headache or not she had 2 kids to raise and she never missed work because of them unless it was for a surgery or taking vacation to see a dr. So I've seen what the migraines can do to people but if my mom can work through them to go to a mans job for 20 years ? Come on now ...

Oh yeah stomach problems from the headache medicine check she has ulcers now , full on knee replacement from that job check had that too . Arthritis in her neck back and knees that's nearly crippled her now because of job check and check migraines to this day ? Check that one too ,I know they are bad ,but priorities come first .You do what you haft to do to get by . I guess I don't have that much sympathy for people because I saw what my mother went through to provide for us , she gave us a good life and did what she had to do at the cost of her health though.
