Spartan, your mother is an amazing woman.
Yes she is. Just gets under my skin when people make excuses for things and I saw her go through all she did for us .
She retired on my birthday . My sister and I begged her to. We were grown and it was time for us to make our own way the plant (famous us tire and rubber Company) had done it's job on her .She could have gone on disability and put her hand out to the government, but she didn't. Respect.
.............she always tells us she has no regrets and would do it all over again .
Some back story on my life and my family a little bit . My dad got killed when I was 8 years old . My mom had just got hired into a plant that everyone told her was a man's job and she had no business being there because of how hard the job was .
She had me and my sister though and was now a single mother . She worked 12 hour nights to provide for my sister and myself . She too suffered from migraines all her life ,she was prescribed pills , even an oxygen mask lot of times when she wasn't working she had to stay in a dark room with no sound and all that. I remember all the er trips she made .
I remember the surgeries she had because she had tumors in her sinuses but the migraines never stopped with her ,but guess what headache or not she had 2 kids to raise and she never missed work because of them unless it was for a surgery or taking vacation to see a dr. So I've seen what the migraines can do to people but if my mom can work through them to go to a mans job for 20 years ? Come on now ...
Oh yeah stomach problems from the headache medicine check she has ulcers now , full on knee replacement from that job check had that too . Arthritis in her neck back and knees that's nearly crippled her now because of job check and check migraines to this day ? Check that one too ,I know they are bad ,but priorities come first .You do what you haft to do to get by . I guess I don't have that much sympathy for people because I saw what my mother went through to provide for us , she gave us a good life and did what she had to do at the cost of her health though.

We still ask her why she did what she did and she says because she wanted us to have a happy childhood not to worry about money or things like that before we had too. Her new husband retired from same place with full benefits and me my sister and him all begged her to retire. She took a major hit on the pension and all that but it broke her down.
She has the headaches all the time and now can barely walk if it's not her knees it's her back and neck or a combo of the 3 . I felt guilty still do to be honest because of all the crap she's been through but she always tells us she has no regrets and would do it all over again .
That's because her pride is intact even though her body isn't.
Hey Mark Sanders aka Chambelona59
I emailed you the tracking. However with my emails not being so reliable I wanted to post what I sent you here with the tracking #. It went out 2 day priority
Hey Mark,
Here is the tracking number.
9505 5102 5497 6182 0041 80
Again I apologize for the delay. I know you will more than likely never want to do business with me again however I would like to repair the relationship and maybe earn your business again. So if you choose, the next set of knife scales are free.
I hope you have a great weekend
Sincerely
Eric
I absolutely understand why customers worry when completion goes way over the promised time. With no response to emails, you're left helpless. But the one thing thst will not get your work completed is answering emails.
He has to stop to refresh his memory on your project, estimate where you are in line, and say something to let you know what's going on. In other words, he's not getting any work done. Never underestimate the power of email to eat up time. At least, if he does respond, don't try to turn it into an extended conversation.
I would suggest that a better way would be a Facebook page where he could post whose work just got done and should be in your hands within a week -- packing and mailing out. And a heads-up on whose work is up next.
If electronics bother you so badly, you're time may be better used on PayPal, refunding the people you owe, or creating shipping labels on usps to return property you're holding onto, instead of browsing the exchange looking for deals. If you're not able to commit the time to you're work, then CLOSE YOUR BOOKS!
My sister suffers for terrible migraines so I know that you must be in hell, but taking people's money and not doing the work is only doing your reputation a disservice. It's already wrecked here on bladeforums, but you may still be able to retain your less knowledgeable Instagram customers.
My father in law owns, and I run a small job shop machine shop, and I can say that practices like yours are disgusting to see in any small business. Get your act together.

Good man ! People can come back from things . I wish you the best of luck . I've admired your work for awhile now , and hope things go your way in the future .
This one was just a mishap. We had talked about a bunch of stuff back and forth and I thought he wanted cf sheath and cf scales w/ orange liners. I made those and sent pics. He said he wanted black g10 frag scales with orange liners. I had to start all over on the scales. I finished them and they are shipped out along with 15 other orders that were done and completed on time.
Unfortunately happy people very very rarely discuss their happiness whereas most angry people will talk about that experience non stop and where ever they can. Its just how it is in all areas of business. Knives, cars, even shopping places like home depot and walmart.
Imitrex as well as the oxygen mask really helped her .Wow, Your Mom seems like a really amazing woman with a high tolerance for pain. Thank you for sharing. I most of the time work through my migraines but the bad ones that last for days are just too much and by day 3 and 4 I call it quits and stay in a dark room. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I had my eyes checked because that can cause headaches...got glasses. check. Then I was told that a diviated septum can cause headaches....I did need that surgery and I got it. Check. Headaches are still there and have been for a little over 2 years.
A lot of research I've read has said that most people will experience bad migraines at some point in their life. Some get it early like their 20s and others don't get it until later in life and all inbetween. Some last for months and never again. Some have it for years. Some it lasts for the rest of their lives. Seems like your Moms migraines were lifelong and thats awful. Mine have been going on for over 2 years. I hope they go away soon
Something to keep in mind, both on our parts and on a seller's or craftsman's. We should be mindful to display some reasonable patience unless things have obviously gone pear-shaped, and sellers/craftsmen should at least endeavour to remain communicative enough (despite setbacks and such) to ensure that minds are kept at ease so that these kinds of things don't escalate.
Glad that everything seems to be on track for an amicable resolution.
Agreed. I try my best to communicate and make things right. But at the same time I can't be online and emailing all day every day because I'd never get any work done. Plus I'm the time of guy that wants to get it done and say bam it's done. Not give a play by play accounting of every step
^^^^^^
There are some highly respectable, amazing people here on this forum! Reading many of the stories of fellow member's over the past 3 years (their trials & tribulations), has at times, given me excellent perspective.
Your mother, Spartan, reminds me of my mother. Losing your father at such a young age, must've been devastating to your family.Thank you for sharing this.
It's refreshing, reading the GOOD, that sometimes come out of these Bad & Ugly thread's.
I hope that ShepardCC, will read what has been written, get his life/business turned around & back on the righteous path. We all come to serious, life changing, cross roads in life...
You definitely are talented & do amazingly beautiful custom work, Eric. Once you get these affair's taken care of, hopefully you can focus on getting your business & reputation back on the right track.
Good luck!
