Anyone heard of this guy?

Stunning what the market keeps bringing up, I hope someone is stupid enough to buy it, mabye they should go into bussiness with each other.

I don't know why you guys are making fun of his hardness claims. All my knives are too hard to sharpen on a diamond stone. Here is a pic of me sharpening my LFF Boot Knife on a coarse DMT. It doesn't remove any material at all. Heck, if I sharpen edge forward, it'll take slices out of the stone .

Also the Coating that is Baked "Into" the Steel

I Also like the Compass attached to the Sheath mere centimeters from a carbon steel blade, with instant bearing access.. (Great if you are walking sideways) Obviously he knows Nothing about Navigation..

What the hell, Its funny, but its not.....I guess if you are stupid enough to buy his BS, than you have it coming. :barf:

What you 'wanna bet "Sgt. Leibhardt" and his Army unit, "Force Pro Cell Cereberus 1" exist solely in the "testimonial" on the site?

I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about. I just ordered one and will probably order another.

This may very well replace my Rambo knife as my primary "Tactical Operations" knife when I get deep in the sh.....

You can't tell me you didn't dig the compass in the handle back in the day.:D

That was my thought. Can anyone shed some light on this organization? I am not familiar with US military designations but this sounds like something Tom Clancy would be embarassed to say!

Is a Force Pro Cell a unit in the US military or what? Are they identified by a name/number combo like Cereberus 1 or Apollo 4 or what? This is just too hokey to be real!

really? how much did that cost you? couldn't you get a Chris Reeve one piece for that price?

I agree, Robert. Knowledge is everything. That's what we tell folks in this field. 99% of survival situations can be handled without a knife, IMHO. You can find and make what you need out there -- if you've taken the time to learn how -- in most situations.

Also, Robert, I've taken the liberty of using part of your post as my new sig line, if that's okay!:D

Be my guest, my man! I'll ship you some OD floss I'm marketing, so you can floss in complete silence...........

It's important! You don't want the tell tale plastic "click" of the floss cap opening! The sentry might hear you!

You don't want to interrupt your flossing and be forced to engage in some sentry deanimation with plaque all over your tactical floss garrote.

Only used by tactical operators, survival floss is much better than other so called "tactical floss" companies. ;)

$550 for a 1095 Tracker rip-off. :jerkit: I think I'd rather have the Bear Grylls knife.

Some idiot would buy it.

I would drop dead before I'd buy EITHER knife for the prices listed. I just looked up the price on the Bear Grylls knife: 700 bucks? HOLY SH-T.

What a joke. Looks like either a damn Klingon knife or one of those $19.95 and we'll throw-in-a-certificate-of authenticity "fantasy" knives you see on late-night TV knife shows (this whole collection for $149.00- that's 75 knives, only $2 each)

I know I'm preaching to the choir, and this whole thread is a laugh, but while I'm on the soapbox, (just in case there's a newbie looking) if you go to Doug Ritter's website Equipped.com http://www.equipped.com/devices8.htm and look at some of his suggestions for good knives, there's not a damn one of them that costs over $200, and many are less.

Here are some suggestions for good, solid knives (IMHO)
Knives of Alaska Bush Camp knife, D2.... bought for $99 at Cabela's
Rat Cutlery RC-4/RC-6, 1095................picked up at Shot Show 2008, $150-$198
Chris Reeve Green Beret, S30V.............bought for $189 from Chris
Mala Suerte, BG-42 fixed blade.............$149 from Mike Snody
Fallkniven F1/S1, VG-10 laminate..........$100-$200 dep. on blade length

and there are many others. All of the above are quality knives built like a brick u-no-what I'd trust my life to any of them.

Sorry for the rant, but seeing his stupid ad and those prices got my dander up !!!

Did you ever see the BBC film adaptation of "Andy McNab's" book, "Bravo Two Zero?"

I can't believe an SAS Trooper would glue a baseplate compass like a Silva Ranger on to the side of an M16. The character in the movie playing McNab, Sean Bean, would roll the rifle over and get a bearing. The receiver might be aluminum but the barrel is steel. Wherever that rifle would be pointing would quite likely be North. :D

I don't know if that's why McNab got lost, but it makes sense why the character in the movie did. :D

So, I wrote and asked this guy a question about the Damascus Bowie. Here is the reply

"Damascus is world famous from the very beginning of steel being forged for axes and knives. It is an ancient tradition of repeatedly folding carbon steel onto itself during the forgeing process to make the steel strong and flexible. This process reveals the beautiful layered patterns of oil quentched Damascus.
This particular knife, as you can see by the layered patterns, went through quite an extraodinary layering and quentching process to develop the patterns that you can see in the photo.
Understand, this is extremely tough beyond any other steels in knife making, to such a degree that properly used, and NOT abused, you will never have to sharpen this edge.
If it should ever need sharpening (I greatly doubt that in a life time), as I was the one who put this edge on it, the knife can be sent back to us and have the same edge put to it as you receive it with. Belive me, you will never have a knife as sharp as this one, or has the edge holding capability.
Understand, you can only sharpen any knife to the degree that the steel is hard. Believe me when I tell you, Damascus is the toughest steel to sharpen because of its extreme tempering and folding and compression in forgeing, and this particular knife has been folded and treated to a ridiculous extreme.

Regards,
J. Lightning

This B.S. priceless - maybe one of you guys can sharpen this for me ....
