Anyone here EDC a fixed-blade?

I add a few fixed blades to my rotation. Mostly just for outdoor use. Never had any trouble doing anything that needs done with a folder.

Every day I carry my Murray Carter necker. It's a 7.25" Blue Super Steel Wharnecliffe blade, with a maroon micarta handle. Usually people don't even know I have it on, and I'm a waiter at a resort in Arizona.

When I cant carry a bigger fixed blade I carry this little Krein in a custom P long easy on easy off crossdraw sheath made from Cape Buffalo skin that I shot

I have carried this knife everywhere from around NY city to township buildings and even schools no one has ever said a word

I carried an AG Russell Hunters Scalpel every day for five years at my last job, a mudlogger geologist on a drill rig.

Now at my new job I carry a folding Victorinox Stylus (we use PDAs), and only use the Hunters Scalpel when motorcycling or hiking.

I usually EDC an Izula, and if I'm not working as a paramedic, usually a larger fixed blade depending on the day's activities. Formal occasions I'll wear a Cold Steel Kwaiken; other times a Hissatsu, CKRT first strike, or an Allen Blade Scandi Pack Pal.

Yup. Often a Bark River PSK around my neck and sturdier knife horizontally on my belt. I work in a city, in offices and Doctor's rooms.

This one has been in my pocket every day for a year now. Before that was a BK11.

I live and work in a rural area, and drive a forklift in a warehouse for a living.

On weekends I will add a larger (4" or so) fixed on my belt. Right now it is a Mora 840.

Todd, what is that knife? I like the looks of it...

I carry a concealed handgun and a spydie mostly every day. But this Culiti i just aqquired is tempting me, so I'll have to try her out.

I EDC a fixed-blade when it rains, or when not at work (carry a Blackhawk! Cruciable II @ work). I rock a Street Beat, and agree with frontline29 on the carryability of it. FWIW, this is in the west L.A. area.

I often carry a BRKT Hedgehog in vertical kydex. Sometimes, I switch it up and carry an Imp. I find that I generally don't need much more knife than that.

I love the feel of the Street Beat "in hand" but I never wear a belt so it's been sitting around a lot, as I pocket carry.

The sheath isn't comfortable like my Izula Kydex from hoopster. I suppose it'll have to be shipped to hoopster for a custom set of pants. :D

Anyone know of a leather sheath that the Street Beat would "pocket carry" in?

Some very nice fixed blade knives guys!!

I have edc'd an izula.

Switched back to just the sebenza, as i can barely whip that out without getting a comment about it from co-workers now and again.

I am a forester/ Utility arborist. I walk under High tension power lines looking for tree problems. I edc a fixed state every day at work. If I am In a residential or very populated area I carrymy Izula if not or if I am or RR tracks Then it is my RC-3 in s KSF leather shesth. I live in SE Michigan So it is pretty populous but nobody has said anything to me yet. Altho I am very discrete and do not draw attention to it.

I think fixed blade pocket carrying is more concealed and discrete than a pocket clipped folder. Another, I believe a fixed blade is much more superior than a folder in almost any situation, unless space is limited this goes to the original poster.

Comments for the "wow factor" or because you're packing a blade?
