Anyone live near Savson Swords & Knives

Hey all. Lookin for some help. I arranged with Randy @ Savson Sword&Knives a buy in on the Emerson CQC-15s. I negotiated a good buy for people of this forum to contact him directly and order what they want. I have tried to contact Randy several times in the last 2-3 weeks both by phone and email. No answer. I leave the phone ring off the wall and nothing.A couple people who took advantage of this deal were in contact with me about the issue as well. I hope nothing happened to Randy or he closed down or something. If someone knows whats up or lives near by could you check in and let us know if everything is OK?

I have had several SOG Bowies delivered from him in the last 1-2 weeks.
In fact, quite fast shipping. I am really pleased.

I just got a shipping confirmation from him yesterday. The website says their phone lines will be down until mid-March because of an "ongoing construction project." I'd try emailing him again.

Sent another email to him earlier today. Hopefully I get a reply on Monday or Tuesday. The last several have gone unanswered. Since it has been confirmed he is OK and his business is up and running, I will expect a reply.

I've never dealt with Savson, but reading these boards I find it
odd that over and over again we get these kinds of threads about them.

Someone posts about a problem with an order from them, then someone else posts that they're terrific and always come through 100%, then others chime
in that they're (Savson) is top-notch, and

shortly thereafter the problem is resolved.

I've seen this kind of thread about Savson over and over again on
BF, and not about any other dealer.

Just find that odd.
 
I just had my first dealing with them recently. I placed an order on Saturday, Feb 24. I emailed him on Feb 27 to ask when my knife would be shipped. He said it would ship that day. I should have gotten it on March 1, but it didn't arrive.

I emailed him to ask for my tracking #. He replied that he would look it up for me and follow up. Knife didn't arrive on Friday, March 2nd. I emailed him again, but no response Knife didn't arrive on Monday, March 5th. I emailed him again, but no response.

My knife finally showed up on Tuesday, March 6th. The tracking # showed that it wasn't actually shipped until March 2nd. I emailed him pointing out that he shipped it 3 days after he told me had shipped it. You guessed it, no response.

Sadly, my future knife orders will be placed elsewhere.
 
I've placed several of orders through Randy M., and he's come through great. In fact, he's shipped all my orders within 24 hours and at a decent price. Really odd to find others have had problems, but honestly, he's a decent seller and offers great prices. Ive never had to communicate with him, so I can't say much about his response time, but again, Randy's top notch IMO.
 
I know, its a weird situation. I have ordered several knives from him and had nothing but top notch service and the best pricing period! Now, after negotiating a price on the Emerson CQC15s as a quantity preorder for BF Memebers, this has become a problem. Never has before for me. I've never read the threads about Savson being less than good, I guess I never sought them out though. I had good experiences, and figured I still would. We'll see if I get an answer to my last email by Tuesday.

Seems like a bad case of HIT and Miss at best! How long ago did you order your knife? Just seems to be getting worse.

I ordered last Tuesday. But in the past I have always gotten my knives from them by latest Saturday. I have made many transactions with them. I thought for sure I was getting it this Saturday. Like I said till the end of the week.
 
True, but there web site did say "in stock". Hey look I am giving them some time before I call the CC company. But now that this thread came up and people are having so many concerns it make you think a bit.
 
Well, Its Tuesday and no reply from Randy! Talk about a kick in the pants.I was really pulling for him, as I have anywhere from 12-15 people who preordered a cqc15 from here. I sure hope no one gave him money. I feel horrible about the whole thing.

I got a reply. Canceled my order. His site said it was in stock and the knife was not. He apologized but the good news is he never charged my card. All this time I though it was heading my way.

Said it all had something to do with the construction etc.

Keep emailing him. Get his cell. Do what you got to do if he charged you.
 
Maybe the reason Savson isn't performing up to snuff is due to the fact that a bunch of little kids (who can't wait) are pestering the you-know-what out of him with phone calls and emails because they want their knives instantaeously teleported to their grubby little hands within nanoseconds of placing their order. Is anyone familiar with the term "delay of gratification"? I've been patronizing Savson for over a year with nary a problem. In the past, I, too, have succumbed to WMK Syndrome (Where's my knife?! Where's my knife?!?! Where's my knife?!?!?!?!?!?!!). WMK Syndrome is functionally equivalent to the AWTY Syndrome (Are we there yet?). One day, it dawned on me that he can't simultaeously process my order and respond to my queries. So just chill out and let the man work. Your new "baby" will thus arrive sooner
