Anyone live near Savson Swords & Knives

Maybe the reason Savson isn't performing up to snuff is due to the fact that a bunch of little kids (who can't wait) are pestering the you-know-what out of him with phone calls and emails because they want their knives instantaeously teleported to their grubby little hands within nanoseconds of placing their order. One day, it dawned on me that he can't simultaeously process my order and respond to my queries. So just chill out and let the man work. Your new "baby" will thus arrive sooner

Actually, that has little or nothing to do with it. Randy has admitted to having big problems filling orders due to his health. People calling him and emailing him isn't what's causing the problems. Below is a quote of an email that Randy sent to another member of this forum, that was posted in another thread.

"Jon, I appreciate that. The fact is that over the past 6 months I have been more sick than healthy and some orders were grossly screwed up. So you understand, there are orders I dropship and orders that I ship. When I have been sick I can have someone do the dropships for me but the orders that ship from here have been the ones screwed up. Because I am a one man show if I go down the whole process shuts down here in ohio and it has affected my credibility, no question. I understand peoples frustations and believe me, no one is more frustatred than I. I am still battling infections and other complications not yet explained to me so it is still ongoing but today is one of my better days so I am trying to play some catch-up today. People just want the things they order in a fairly sppedy fashion and I don't blame them. There are some complaints out there that are justified because there just wasn't anyone here to take take care of it(the hazards of a one man show) but there has been no intentional deception although most of the time folks don't care, they just want their knives and thats the way business goes. I appreciate all the business and have a good day"

I received an auth to send a knife back. I sent it insured and it definitely arrived. I asked for him to credit my card, heard nothing and have continued to send him emails without reply for over a month now. So now he has my money and my knife for over a month WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE TO MY INQUIRIES! Hardly a problem with "delayed gratification." My CC company says I have a great case and I await their paperwork to go after him. In my opinion this is theft at this point. The knife is over $100 which makes it a felony I believe.

I have been emailing yahoo to get his site shut down.

Here is the address: shopping-support@cc.yahoo-inc.com

I suggest everyone do the same, as well as file complaints at these sites:

http://www.ic3.gov/

http://www.usps.gov/websites/depart/inspect

http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/complaint.htm

http://welcome.bbb.org/

You can also email Randy at admin@savsonswordsandknives.com and info@savsonswordsandknives.com.

There is no excuse for not posting a notice on his site, refunding peoples money, responding to emails, still taking orders and charging cards, etc.

I have been trying to get a reply from him for many months now, yet some others have got bs excuses from him since then...

Address:

I have already started the process to have this site www.savsonswordsandknives.com shut down. I called and emailed the better business bureau in cinncinati ohio where the business is nearest to. I filed a complaint with yahoo shopping which probably didn"t do any good. A visit to the shop might be the best course of action. Either that or hire a lawyer and get everyone who ever got screwed by randy to sign some sort of petition and send it to the better business bureau cincinati. If anyone lives close to the area that would be even better. I have ordered two knives and got an email saying that Randy charged my card and nothing else after that. Its been a month already. I am currently disputing this merchant with my credit card company and am also urging them to watch out for future charges from this merchant to other account members and not just me. He is a very shady busniessman and probably would sell your credit card info to the highest bidder. I second the notion and will be satisfied once this savson site is shut down and will smile the day it happens

He ripped me off too. He's had my money since October 9. I have'nt received my order, and I've had no replys to my emails. After three weeks I notified him that I was cancelling my order and requesting him to return my money to my credit card account. That was on 10/30. Nothing since.

Preface. Sounds like someone to avoid unless a pattern of vast improvement is established.

But

If someone makes a deal with you and does not perform that is not a criminal matter unless he intended all along to take your $$ and not perform (You can prove that, right? Proof not being speculation. Beyond a reasonable doubt - in the minds of jurors. Remember OJ?)

No, $100 does not make it a felony - even if it is proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he always intended not to perform. $500 is the magic amount. ORC 2913.02(B)(2).

99.99% of the time it's breach of contract - a civil matter however smelly. As in sue.

I think if he does it to enough people, it could be considered felony theft or maybe even mail fraud.

The BBB got back with me and said they can not contact Randy so they consider the business closed...

About 3 hours ago I received an email from Tom Manley at Savson. He says he is taking over the day to day business there because Randy is ill. He hopes to square business with all of Randys customers. So send him an email (admin@savsonswordsandknives.com) and be civil if you can. He seems 5x5.

If the matter doesn't resolve itself I suggest contacting the State attourney general and asking thst the business license be revoked.

Tom had taken over and is trying to bring the business back. He is a really nice guy and he will take care of you. Read my latest review.

Tom at Savson came through for me. He offered to return my money or complete the original deal. I chose to have him send the order. It arrived today. I would do business with him again.

Do you have contact info for Tom, so that folks can find out about their orders? A phone number would be best.

Hopefully, unlike Randy, Tom will answer emails. He may have so many many of them that he considers it too daunting a task to answer them all. Hopefully he will get a phone number so that customs can communicate their concerns.

Almost a week and still no word from Tom after it was said that he took over for Randy.

It would be nice if he had a phone if email is too hard for him to respond to.

Thought I would give some positive feedback for Savson also. Placed my order for a caly 3 on 11/4/07 before realizing that Randy has had some problems. Emailed Randy on 11/9/07 to cancel my order because of what I had read here. Email was replied to immediately by Randy Manley saying that my order would ship. Knife received today! Shipping label says it was shipped 11/10/07. I'm very happy with the service and his communication. I know the guy has had some problems judging by recent posts but it seems like things are returning to normal. Would help if he or someone associated with him posted here though explaining the situation and if problems are likely in the future. I would like to think that this would help with confidence for future orders.
