Anything goes three...The trifecta of stoopid goes on.

crash test dummy:

rode 15 mi of singletrack yesterday and my legs feel like jelly. we rode another 12 mi today.

i was going to take a break and push it up this one hill (my friends were waiting for me to crap out so they can too) but when i looked up i saw this hottie resting with her bf...she was looking at me...crap! i turned on my after burner's after burner. i didn't know i had an after burner, nevermind two!

now my legs are too tired to even scream in pain  doing another trail tomorrow although it's more like a free ride park (think bmx jumps, wooden platforms but for mountain bikes).

i honestly hope i don't see any hotties there otherwise i'll take out my esee-4 and stab my tires while she's not looking and pretend the rocks did it.

Here's what I did this weekend. Went camping last night at a place called Barney's Wall. Left around 4pm and it's about a 40 minute drive. About 12 people went so we got there and setup camp and then did a 50ft rappel and later sat out and stared at the stars. This morning we got up and did a 50METER rappel which was awesome. Pretty much once you got over the overhang it was just a free fall hanging in air.

My best friend and I's birthday's are this week.
I want to order 2 Izula's for us. Open them at the same time, and be buds :D
Shouldn't be spending the $100 though :(

Only gonna cost you $42 each if you get them from Robert @ patriot Knives. He uses USPS Priority shipping so it's very quick

Gotcha. Good deal, thanks.

Price checking.

T-K-C- :
x2 = $93.04 + $0.00 shipping (free) so total is $93.04

Patriot Knives :
x2 = $91.98 + $6.95 shipping so the total is $98.93

I've also dealt with Dale before. He's a nice guy. Maybe if I originally went with Patriot Knives :D

Oh I didn't pay shipping for mine from Robert. Speak to him directly and not through his website. He does free shipping if you buy from him right through Paypal

Gotcha, I did not know that.
I figured something could have been wrong :P

So in that case, T-K-C, is $1.06 more expensive. I'd rather give Dale repeat business for a dollar.

i did two, solid face plants yesterday :D if it weren't for my full face helmet, i'd be eating through a straw right now.

right at the start of the ride...first try i dropped off the log:

3rd try - face plant!

the 2nd face plant was way more gnarly since it was on rocks but no one was taping since it was such a routine downhill. this was the 3rd day straight riding so i was dead tired and decided to let my guard down and relax...then bam!

here's my buddy doing the kung fo roll:

thanks, gundude73 for the embed tip!

sure.

first you have your YT video link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-XldXGxqDk

then you take the letters after the equals sign (bolded below) you put this portion between youtube tags D-XldXGxqDk [/ youtube] *remove all extra space*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-XldXGxqDk
when you are all done it should look like this

hope that helps

Cool man, I did some mountain biking back when I was 14-16, but I stopped doing it after a while to concentrate on school and took up running instead.

Must say I miss it a lot, will definitely have to dig the bike out of storage and give it a try again =)

Perhaps work on a kit I take on my bike to do some camping up north... you sir have sparked ideas!

Anyone else see the forum over at BUSA about the broken RC 4?

Photo is bypassoverloads.

Broke it batonning.

Woah, batonning a brick maybe :D? Or maybe a rare heat treat issue... hope he sends it in so we can find out!

All knives can be broken. Here is what he said..

Well, I broke my RC-4. I was battoning through a piece of Pecan and I guess I hit a bad twist or a knot and PING, the blade snapped in two. I have sent it off to EESE (Rat) for a warranty claim. Hopefully all will be ok.

Crazy RC4 snap. I spent the weekend on a 5 day whitewater kayaking trip on the Lower Gorge of the Salmon. Did some boldering, firecraft, bushcraft, bushwacking, camp cooking, and we brought a satellite radio to listen to the BSU/Hokies game. There was a huge rift in the group (we had one Viriginia Tech grad) between the Vandals fans who hate everything BSU, and all the Boise bums. We were all drinking out of the same keg on the river though... our cook did up some prime rib and roasted potatoes in dutch ovens and then bread pudding with whiskey sauce for dinner. Needless to say it was a crazy night. Working on pictures now, I have about half uploaded on facebook. Now I have to do it all over on photobucket...

Has anyone besides me notice the quantity of broken knife threads or related posts lately? What is going on out there? I was very happy to read that ESEE now has a warranty tracking system in place. Ultimately it is there company to do as they will. However it truly bothers me that people out there would either
A. intentionally break a knife just to avoid sharpening it or because it rusted.
b. Broke a knife while doing something obviously very stupid & still send it in to be replaced

I understand that most of us on this forum are not that way & in fact several of you share my views. I'm not here to start another pissing match over what is abuse & what is not. Honestly most people probably know when it is or is not. It's sad when things like integrity, truth & honor are used as punchlines by some people instead of a way of life. Sorry for the rant guys. I'll get off my soap box for the moment.

I doubt he was abusing his knife in any way. Batonning is not something that I would call abusing at all.

Although I do see where your post is coming from. There have been a ton of threads on warranty lately. I don't really see why, either. It is clearly defined on the website as to what is and isn't covered.

Well it seems to have started with the supposed grey area of what "wear and tear" or "edge chipping" is. I suppose to some people it could be debatable for a 2mm chip to be considered enough damage to warrant a return. But then again, other people say that if they have a 5mm+ chip they would do their best to restore the knife themselves even if it means it looks bad.
