Anything goes three...The trifecta of stoopid goes on.

If my blade was only chipped, I would chalk it up to user error, most likely. If it broke, and not abusively so, I would likely send it back so they could check to see if something was wrong.

I don't really see small chips as much of a problem to warrant a replacement.

If your well HT'd 58RC High Carbon blade is chipping, I think I'd seriously consider looking at getting a new one, because something is probably wrong... That said, when the edge rolled on my RC5 after forcing it through a 16 penny nail, it took 5 minutes to straighten out. Alot of times it's just common sense.

Cool man, I did some mountain biking back when I was 14-16, but I stopped doing it after a while to concentrate on school and took up running instead.

Must say I miss it a lot, will definitely have to dig the bike out of storage and give it a try again =)

Perhaps work on a kit I take on my bike to do some camping up north... you sir have sparked ideas!

definitely try and get back into it! a mtb makes for a great mule to carry your supplies for you...here's my rig for the upcoming zombie invasion  look closer and you'll see my junglas and esee-4 strapped to my pack.

Very nice dude!

Yeah I ride an old Trek 4500 that I saved for a year to buy when I was 13. Gonna take it out and clean it up when I go home this weekend ;)

man it's been a strange week.
work was hell, especially the last two days.
found out the walnut-size mass docs removed from my dad's bladder was cancerous.
learned the next day that my youngest niece's heart condition (partial anomalous pulmonary venous return)seems to have self-corrected.

Wooowhooooo!!!
Scored a 4 on the XC!!

ETA: Looking at a 6 now too!!:rolleyes::cool:
That's right......I have THE sickness!!! :barf::barf::o

South Texas Time Warner Cable doesn't broadcast afternoon NFL games in HD? The only HD games I get to watch are Sunday and Monday nights? AAAAHHHHHH!!!

Freakin hate TWC

Spent 7 hours under a needle last night getting a full back piece done. Man, I'm hating myself today... worst part is playing "scratch my back" trying to coat it evenly with lotion.

for the record, the shoulder blades suck.

Wow nice man

I had one on my shoulder a year ago, itched like crazy too. I must've looked pretty ridiculous squirming and trying not to scratch on the plane ride home a day later lol

Also, nice blood trail on the right there haha

woops... ya, ah well. I had an MP3 player full of some slower, calmer oldies and just went to my happy place. After the sixth hour I started to get really bored and things got worse but for the most part I just applied my "do what it takes to get it done" motivation. The artist's time between cigarette breaks decreased exponentially, he was pretty bored with packing all that black. I was goin for the scandinavian 'spirit of the forest' look and I think it turned out great. Picked up another kayak, used for three seasons, a black and red Paranha H2, for 50 bucks at a garage sale. In this condition it's at least a 350 dollar boat, craigslist price. Big day yesterday. Christmas in September :) Woke up this morning with my shirt sticking to my back, so I hopped in the shower with it on and it came right off. The itching isn't really bad at all today actually, and I haven't noticed any major scabbing or anything.

dude, home depot paint roller section :D

LOL... that just might work. I got it real good this morning, starting to figure it out. A little itching this morning but I think I'll be alright-no noticeable scabbing or anything so I think I got off easy.

did our first night-time mountain bike ride earlier tonight. 180 lumens flashlight (fenix pd20) mounted on the handle bar and 60 lumens petzl on the helmet was just barely enough to still make it fun. we needed more like 600 lumens each to actually ride instead of barely making it out of the woods...talk about bringing a knife to a gun fight.

...and yes, i brought my esee-4 with me. half way through we encountered two dogs in the trail with no leash but no hiker to be seen...really strange. i don't know the breed but they didn't look like stray dogs either - they have the long hair kind and it looked like they were well groomed.

i'm usually the prepared one (the sheeple would call me paranoid haha) but surprisingly my two non-knife buddies asked me to take my knife out of my pack and put it in my pocket just in case. go figure!

JV3 Night rides are fun just for the challenge in and of themselves. In Wisconsin my dad and I used to take a few night trails with one halogen on one side and an LED light on the other (for both wide range and long distance light) that offered nice gradual rolling hills and nothing too quick that could bite you in the butt in low visibility. The wind really betrays your speed, you feel like you're going much faster than you really are. It is what convinced me to start riding my road bike at night.

we rode in ringwood state park today - it's by far the most insane trail i've ever ridden...or more like walked through with my bike. i felt like i was learning how to ride a bike for the first time all over again. it's well known in the mtb community here that it's the most hardcore mtb trail in nj.

this is one of the spots on the red trail that i'll never, ever ride. the path is only 2 ft wide with a 5 ft drop filled with hood-sized boulders. land the wrong way and you'll be lucky if you just broke a bone or two. to me it's not worth the risk of being in a wheelchair for life. but i saw a lot of guys ride it like they were riding on the sidewalk. much respect for their skills and balls.

i can take the hit of falling on rocks from saddle height (i have a full face helmet and pads) but not a 5 ft drop first and then rocks

it's a very humbling place - i already know there's a ton of parts there i'll never have the skills and the balls to ride :(

Looks very beautiful JV3!

thanks, x. it's like watching a great white shark circling around. there's a certain elegance to the killing potential :D

the pics don't give it justice how dangerous it really is. i was...cough...a few shots of bourbon...i mean inches away from serious injury had i tried to ride it. i really need to start having kids at least before i go back there.

That is an awesome trail. Rock like that sure does make riding interesting, especially with off cant elevation change :D Does alot for your confidence, conquering stuff like that.

Here are a few shots from some recent hikes, trips, at work, or just random shots from my area.
