Agreed. It should be "People are inherently animals at heart who are most concerned with their own well being".

Sorry, was that too negative? Hopefully this OP will prove me wrong and provide a positive example of someone trying to right their wrong.

I do believe the vast majority on this site are inherently good. My beef is only with the op and people like him. . .

Don't get me wrong, the majority here is comprised of very good people. It's just that you can't put any stock in someone who has proven themselves to be trash regardless of the apology, sob story, and promise of restitution.
 
So far everybody is right! I tried giving this guy the benefit of the doubt but so far all talk no action. I'm honestly not expecting anything. As I see it, we can't let the few bad apples ruin this wonderful forum! Most people here are honest, helpful ,and caring! I think this a great thread. It shows people what to be aware of. I'm a believer in Karma and feel bad that the OP has to live this way. I also appreciate all you guys standing up for me.
 
If you keep leaving it up to sogtrident you'll keep getting that nothing you expect. You thank us for standing up for you but where's the point at which you stand up for yourself in this and legitimately hold the man to account for what he did? You letting him skate on this does nothing for you, him, or all of us here at the forum trying to transact business honestly. If you don't want the so called bad apples to spoil the bunch you can't let them sit around keep stinking things up. That's what this unresolved issue is in my eyes - a fat pile of stink. I'm sorry, to a point, that this comes off as indignant when it's not my property or my decision but leaving it up for karma to sort out would mean zero to me in a case like this. That's the last of my two cents for your situation.
 
Most would strongly agree that people should be given chances. But, when they obviously and blatantly ignore those chances they send out a message of contempt and give offence to all, deliberately and in a calculated fashion. There is nothing clever or right about ripping off somebody, claiming to be appalled by it and wanting to win applause for alleged reform. Then doing nothing, it reeks. :barf: Jaydev, you should now take action, dignity demands it. Then karma can kick in.
 
Print out the opening post of this thread and take it to your local postal inspector. Tell him you want to file charges. End of story. Once you say you are going to do that, don't be surprised if you get a last minute contact from him with an offer of a partial payment and an excuse for why its taking so long, or something along those lines. Follow through!

At some point, it's no longer the actions of some douche that make you a victim. It becomes your choice to remain one through your own inaction that does it instead.

Not that it really matters in the grand scheme but Imho, I think you may soon find yourself loosing a lot of sympathy if you don't do something . . .

File charges with the postal inspectors, hopefully he will be arrested and charged, then maybe it will be a lesson for anyone who wants to screw someone over on the forums that yes you can be prosecuted for stealing on here. Personally I'd like to see him arrested and a thread with his mugshot on here with the title this is what happens when you steal from a bladeforums member. Oh and why is he not banned yet???

You really do owe it to all forumites to take legal action. I like your style, but if you do not act, someone else may get burned, and it is now on you to stop that from happening. I am a witness on a criminal case, been on call for 1.5 yrs for it, and I will testify when it finally happens, because it is my civic duty. This stupid case has interrupted my life, but I will be there when the time comes. You need to act. You will feel better when you do. The perp will even respect you then.
 
I live in michigan anybody need me to collect!!! This absolutely sends me red..... Can't believe that people do this. I TRADE all the time and if i got screwed like this off on a road trip i go. problem with banning him is he will get another screen name and continue to trade or buy. Make it right!!! you work don't you or does your wife pick up your slack? Jaydev is an outstanding member and how he has tolerated this, I dont know and cant comprehend.Guess i'm a hot head but two things..... don't mess with my lady or me knives:D
 
sogtrident, if you are continuing to read the posts here, I hope you read mine. I was originally supportive of your "apology". I hope you know your actions have not just affected my thoughts on you as a junkie, but on others going through treatment. Your selfish actions have only continued to do harm.

I'm at the point where I wonder why you ever made this thread. Was it to throw more salt on Jaydev's wounds? Glad you were able to give away some of your collection to others in the general forum heck you even paid shipping, while you had not made right with the one you actually injured.

OP, In two months you could have sent $10 a week to show some good intent or sent Jadev one of those .45's (or something equivalent) to hold for collateral.

In a feeble attempt to convey my disgust, and contempt for thieves, as well as junkies, and illiterate morons. I will bet $20 to the first five takers from the time of this post until 1000 (10:00am) on 4/18/12, that the OP will not make restitution by the end of April.

I will donate any proceeds won to Jaydev, if he presses charges.

OP, nothing I would like better than for you to prove me wrong, see your victim receive restitution, thereby giving your supporters the opportunity to cyber jab me into an apologetic state and take my money.

Here is the update. Ben has paid me most of the money he owes. We agreed on $550. Today he has paid me $400.
