Apology PLEASE READ

Just to give every one an update! On march 5th Ben sent me an e-mail saying he will pay me in a week or 2. He also wants to get me a knife for mental anguish for the year.

Ah. In other words, no news yet.

I still hope this works out for you, somehow.

Drinking coffee, reading these posts with no intention of posting a reply. Then as if this thieving moronic ex-junkie hasn't done enough by lying, stealing, committing mail fraud, etc. I read the following:

jtr357 you can never ever trust a junkie recovered or not is the most ignorant self richeos statement I've ever heard. U prolly use the N word and have a rebel flag hanging over your bed too huh. Thats sickening taking an entire class of people and saying they are worthless. No wait I think thats predjudice.

Allow me to retort:
With this statement are you not doing exactly what you are bashing jtr357 for ??

I would choose an HONEST Rebel flag flying country boy with or without the N word over a thieving ex-junkie any day.
Having or flying a Rebel flag breaks no laws nor harms anyone.
Stealing, drug use and committing crimes however does !!

U prolly can't spell the N word.

Junkies are not a "Class" of people, there is no "Class" in being a junkie.
They are a group of society which steal, lie, cheat, waste the tax payers money, spread disease and contribute nothing positive to society and the world would be better off without.

Quit your whining, you are not the victim here. I see clearly through your BS. Your only cause for remorse is that you could go to jail. You are playing the system; Oh, being the poor little junkie I am, I couldn't help myself from forming and executing a detailed plan to rip off an honest man. (Now that I am caught) let me confess my sins and ask for help and forgiveness (Oh, and maybe they won't press charges). Boo-hoo !!

If the victim, Jason obtains restitution it will only be due to the thief's fear of going to jail.

Jason: You should give this thief a deadline. If you have not received restitution within X days or weeks, press charges.
Even if he re-pays you he is still guilty of mail fraud, and his confession is right here in black and white (did I say moron already?)

Pretty much my sentiments.

The whole junkie thing is a red herring. Fiending junkies don't scour the exchange section of Bladeforums to scam a gold class Griptilian, keep it for many months, & then trade it for another knife. This isn't "junkie needing a fix" behavior. It's thievery by a guy with good taste in knives (& plenty of very nice folders a bad junkie would've already sold). To be fair, he didn't bring drugs up in his original post. He mentioned it in his next post & everyone gradually blurred the two issues. He just rolled with it & accepted the slightly mitigating angle it gave his actions.

11 pages, wow.... so, did the victim get paid yet? It appears not. Sogtrident trolling for sympathy and acceptance, hiding thinly-veiled attacks against his critics in his messages. He's not sorry for what he did, he's sorry he got caught. And he's not sending apologies and promises to the victim for the victim's sake. He's doing it in the hopes that people will change their mind about him.

Folks, this is a sociopath. No sympathy, no forgiveness. Ignored for eternity by me. And the victim is a fool to remain in contact with this loser and let him string him around some more. Sounds like he has already forgiven the guy. Pfft. Some people deserve the second slap...

Is this guy unredeemable? Of course not; everyone can change. But for a sociopath to change into a good person, they have to think very hard about and resolve the problems in their life (usually beginning with a bad childhood) and learn to love themselves and care for themselves before they can be accountable to other people. Very, very, VERY few sociopaths ever do that. They usually keep at it, hurting people and making their own lives miserable until they die. In other words, don't hold your breath.

Wow, really looks like you put ALOT of time into that post. If you did actually write it, I applaud you. This is the internet, you didn't have to apologize and you could have told Jaydev to go f*** himself, but it seems like you didn't. It might take awhile to earn your reputation back, even though you could have created a new account and acted like this never happened.

I understand how tempting it was to know that you get basically get a couple hundred dollars for free by not sending your knife and taking his.

the fact remains that he has appologized and is attempting to make things right. some of you need to seriously calm down. you dont owe him a second chance , and you dont owe him your understanding. but the least you coud do is NOT tear him appart as he is trying to fix a problem he is taking responsability for. the last thing we need in threads like this, is a bunch of keyboard warriors who think theyve been around long enough to justify pointless bullying.

to be completly honest im very dissapointed with alot of the reactions ive seen here. and i doubt that many of you would be able to take responsability as sogtrident has.

would i trade with him? probably not. but would i critisize and mock him when he is making a whole hearted attempt at redemption? absolutly not.

as a third party, and not involved or invested in this situation in any way, im going to wait and see what happens. hopfully, he makes things right.

my advice? actions speak louder then words. fix the problem. and be done with it.

Really, how so? It's been over a month now since the OP started this thread and still no word on the victim getting paid, or receiving any type of payment.

I understand why some of the members on here have gotten so riled up. The OP blatantly stole from another member of this forum and yet he is still allowed to prance around and talk about buying an expensive gun, all because he apologized. The mods on this forum are quick to issue "infractions" for a lot lesser "sins" such as "deal spotting" or too many "bumps", but have basically given this guy free reign. I'm sure their argument is that they're just trying to help the victim get his money back, but like Brandon, I would gladly pitch in some coin to take care of the problem.

I Know many of us aren’t thieves like sogtrident- You should wait until he fulfills his obligations before you applaud his statements / lack of action.

But I’m thankful you spoke up. In My Not So Humble Opinion- anyone who shows any ethical ambiguity is an instant volunteer for my Ignore List and identifies themselves as someone I don’t want to deal with.

This is a hobby at best and not worth the trouble.

No, he gets no sympathy until he makes it right. That means paying the victim. Everything else is just words. For the love of all that is holy, he said he was going to pay back within a few weeks. A few weeks have come and gone. Now he's been off the boards again for weeks.

You know why he trolled this thread? For the sympathy he's getting from some of you folks... just so you're aware of that. That's what sociopaths do. Fortunately, enough other people stood firm so that he couldn't get the group hug he was looking for.

Quoted for truth. You are showing a side of you more people need to be aware of.

The short answer is, No. Most of us wouldn't think about ripping-off our fellow blade enthusiasts. The fact that a few people do think this way is not a projection upon all of us.

The fact that he apologized means nothing! It was only done after he was out right caught trading the stolen knife. Had he come forward and apologized of his on accord prior to being outed it would have earned him a shred of respect but under fear of consequence it is worthless. You all need to remember that Jaydev is the victim not sogtrident7. This gesture of remorse was originally posted over a month ago but his past and current actions speak for themselves.

I completely disagree with you. I am no internet warrior, and if Sogtrident was going to pay back Jaydev, he would have done so first then apologized second. He wanted to gain sympathy, as addicts want that attention and somehow want some credibility when they have none. Anyone who calls out Sog Trident to do the right thing is respectable, anyone crying foul on this matter is enabling an addict and giving him touchy feely, "It's gonna be ok ol' chap." Sogtrident needs to pay up, and I will keep bumping this thread til he either covers his debt, or is banned for being a thief. That is all. I have found some great honest folks on this forum, and when it gets fouled up and trust is no more, we have lost alot. I value the credibility Blade Forums has, and yes, I will make that a cause to stand up for.

If you feel it is tempting to steal from members here, then please do not trade on this forum.

im not condoning his actions, or mentioning you, if thats what your thinking.

im speaking of people who automatically dismiss an appology just for the sake of arguement. examples -

i dont want to sound rude or anything, but you no longer have any integrity. i wont be doing business with you but good luck to those who will. you took something very special and screwed it over. hope everything works out for Jason.

p.s.- paragraphs are your friend.

I hope you get banned.

I agree you should be banned, an apology is good but you are making it hard for honest people like me who just got started on here and are trying to build trust. Yes you made a mistake and maybe God and Jason will forgive you but its things like this that gives the rest of us honest people difficulties. In my opinion you should never be allowed to trade or buy sell ever again. Harsh? Yes, but you did it to yourself!

Scrub all you want, but that stain ain't comin' out.

these are all from pages 1 and 2. when (although he dident) it remained to be seen if he would yet make good on his promise.
