  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

BRL - try grip tape -- will add traction without bulk.
Trade - I love those marttiini's, still kick myself for losing one 10-12 years back.
Trillbilly - skeletool is a decent piece of kit. pretty light, too.
Silverthorn - check out the Izula 2 -- 2.5" blade, decent sized handle, and micarta.

1066VIC, Thanks man, thats actually pretty sweet, with the whole kit and everything still only 80ish and thats with a good sheath and firesteel and paracord and belt clip and the micarta.
Hmmmm might have one of these inbound asap. Not to decide if I need a fixed blade or a folder for edc. that battle has been raging in my head for a while now.

Let me pick your brains on a new backpack guys. I think I want to get a daypack and a weekend pack. I have a North Face but one strap is starting to tear (might try to fix it with some JB weld) and I haven't looked at packs in years so I'm not sure whats out there. Maxpedition? 5.11? Condor? Kelty?

I've been carrying a Skeletool for a little over the past year, love it. I think the pliers are a little small for at work, but I have a Super Tool 200 for that. Skeletool is very basic, but just enough for any job I've pulled it out for.

yeah, i want something with pliers, yet small enuff to not be a nuisance for EDC. I think the Skeletool fits my needs better then most 'tools Ive looked at thanks.

thanks for ur input too 1066

how is the blade on this? I never really use the knife part of my multi-tools...but nice to know its a decent one if I need to use it. I like how it's easy to get to like a regular folder...if the knife is decent it may replace the folder part of my EDC too

I use this blade more than most of my other tools, especially since my primary folder is out for repair. Good little blade, easy to open and like most Leatherman stuff scalpel sharp.

good to know Murph. thanks again

Im tired of waiting on batteries to charge...Im ordering a corded Black&Deck ''dremel''...

vik, good idea on the griptape. will try.

ol_sc... there's been a lot of thorough backpack talk recently, should turn up easy if you search.

Hit South Mountain today: 107F. I love the Summer in AZ. I'm working out and eating right a lot recently and am down a lot of weight from even a month ago. It'd be nice to get ripped this summer. If I can then I might get back into climbing.

That sandwich is reminiscent of a muffaletta but without the olive tapenade. I may have to attempt something along those lines.

Also, loving the denim micarta Ogre.

You're off the chain Thrill. Looks like it got chewed on by a Barlow girl. Come in a step or two.

Coconut rum and pineapple juice combined is both girly and addictive.

I'll test it in a Camelbak and get back to you.
