Let me pick your brains on a new backpack guys. I think I want to get a daypack and a weekend pack. I have a North Face but one strap is starting to tear (might try to fix it with some JB weld) and I haven't looked at packs in years so I'm not sure whats out there. Maxpedition? 5.11? Condor? Kelty?

Maxped, 5.11, and Condor all make excellent packs. I'm a Kelty guy all the way though for a hard use pack. I have a Kelty Redwing that I've used for years and it's still rockin. It's been rained on, snowed on, and run over by an ATV, and I still carry it on every hike.

I have packs by REI, Gregory, Kelty, and Maxpedition. I have no complaints on any front.

Trying to decide what to do for dinner. Of course then I had a situation come up at the parent's house and everything went to $#!+.

Boonie trip got pushed back a day by the weather, so frying up some hot wings and tossing in a movie. I'm predicting beer too.

Just wanted to see how a bleach etch would do some lettering without risking anything to impotant to me. I keep this in the back of my truck and it has been a good little axe.

Yeh the blue bleach stuff doesn't work well if you want crisp designs. If you were gonn do it use the PCB first the etch again

Thanks for the pack suggestions guys, I'm going to scout REI and sierratrading (and the exchange) the next few weeks and see what I can come up with.

I had blueberry pancakes (from scratch) with maple syrup (that my brother tapped) and farm fresh eggs. Top that!

Scored this old Kingston WWII General purpose knife today at an antique store. Lots of wear on the main blade, and she needs a good cleaning, but once again, got it for $4.

Im watching ''The Way back'' on Netflix...pretty cool so far, group of men escaped a Siberian death camp, then hiked 4,000 miles to freedom back in the early '40s
