Hey guys, I didn't see a thread similar to this one posted, if it has and I overlooked it, please forgive me. I recently added fixed blades to my carry rotation. I usually carry one or the other, but today, I decided to carry both. Is your edc a folder or fixed blade, or do you usually carry both?

Carry folder at work since my company is pretty liberal where knifes are concerned don't want to scare anyone. On my days off always a 3 1/2 inch fixed blade so I can conceal carry all day long with no issues.

I'm semi retired. No issue with carrying either as far as work goes, but in my State of domicile (CA) fixed blades can only be open carried. Therefore fixed blades will be brought out for camping unless I'm working around the property. For EDC when out and about, I carry folders.

My job is pretty strict about using knives as well. I'm not allowed to use it, but I bring a small folder to work with me anyway. I have had a knife on me almost everyday for around 20 years, so I usually have at least one on me especially when I leave the house.

Usually only folders in the past but, in my heart I want to be rockin' that big 7-9 inch fixed blade on my belt everywhere. And not because I have some inferiority complex but, for me it's the principle of the thing. I don't think I have to tell anyone here that today, we are being propagandized and socially engineered into sacrificing rights for security.

Public perception of what it REALLY means to be a REAL free American or REAL free individual anywhere on this planet NEEDS to change. I refuse to let the liberal dominated media dictate to me what a good little slave should act like in public. Too many good men and women have sacrificed in the past up to and including the ULTIMATE sacrifice to provide me w/ the freedoms that many of us have become complacent about and take for granted almost everyday.

As much as I can possibly help it...I'm thru tolerating liberal elitist agendas and Cultural Marxism.

I may start wearing the fixed blade in public when not working all the time.

I can't get away with a fixed blade at work; but, on my own time, I generally carry both. I might skip the modern folder if I choose to front pocket carry the fixed (the alternative is left rear pocket carrying my Millie)

I work security, so knives at work are not an issue. I always carry a Spyderco folder, usually a Dice, plus a small Brous-designed fixed blade. (I have two Brous Silent Soldiers, plus the SOG Snarl, which is a licensed knockoff.)

On weekends, it's the Dice or a GEC traditional, plus a small (6" OAL) custom Alan Davis fixed blade.

With Texas lifting the ban on large knives being carried on September 1st, I'm kinda curious what the reaction would be if if I went to my favorite restaurants with my Trail Master on my belt instead of my usual folder. (Except for government buildings and air travel, no human being has seen me out of my apartment without a knife for many decades.)

Folder. I'm a trucker, and belt carrying a fixed blade just isn't comfortable. I actually stopped belt carrying my beloved Buck 110 because it used to slide around, and annoy me.

I'm a pretty dedicated folding knife guy. I do like fixed bladed knives but honestly I feel silly carrying them. Im not suggesting anyone else is silly for carrying one, just that i feel silly carrying one.
Maybe I should force myself into a 30 fixed blade challenge just to see if I could shake that feeling. Of course I would probably have to buy a new knife.

I'd shake your hand, and tell you rock on brother.

Usually both for me. My normal carry now is a 3" XM-18 that I use when I'm not sure what reaction I'm gonna get from pulling out a knife, and a Bradford G3 that's my first choice for use when what I have doesn't matter to anybody.

I carry a Busse game warden for when I need to beat on stuff, light prying, or cut something abusive to a knife edge like thin sheet metal, wire, sand paper etc. My other edc is a small sebenza 21 and it's used for normal stuff like cutting strapping and string, opening packages, breaking the seal on a fresh can of copenhagen. I used my small sebenza to skin wire for an electrical service we were putting up and it did great!

I used to be that way to but I put a 550 drop on my Nyala sheath and drop the whole thing in my pocket, it hides away nicely like that.

I will ALWAYS have a folder on me. But when I am in the woods or on the farm, I will have a fixed blade or two to accompany the folder
