Both and depending on my plans for the day will determine the combo, in the city it might be a necker tucked into my back pocket

and a lockblade, (usually Sebenza, ZT, Spyderco or Benchmade) and a traditional slipjoint pattern in my front pockets.

a large lockblade like a large Sebenza and a medium multi blade slipjoint or SAK. I'm partial to camper/scout/utility style knives in most cases and usually if not one of those a medium stockman or trapper than.

I always keep both handy and in my truck is also a larger folder/fixed blade paired with a multi-tool geared more towards bushcraft and emergency/survival situations.

Both, A shiro Neon and a Bradford G3 is my work combo EDC. Don't need to carry both but since I can't carry my 315 Night Guard I might as well carry two blades.

I'm more of a fixed blade kinda guy. But I sometimes carry a folder where it's not allowed to carry a knife for ease of concealability.

Never leave the house without a folder ... I don't daily carry a fixed blade but at times my Bradford Guardian or a neck knife gets to tag along ... and around my land or fishing hunting camping horseback riding mushroom or berry picking I always have both a fixed and folder.

but it's a rural area so no heads turn if I go to town n run in a store for something with a fixed blade ... it's not unusal to see here especially fall through winter into spring.

Just folders for me right now. I have been looking for a small fixed blade to carry, but haven't found the right one yet.
for the last couple of years I've been carrying a Kershaw shallot with the composite 14CZN/ZDP189 blade.

I rotate, but for non "field" EDC it is typically a folder. For the field, I carry both. Usually a 3.5 inch blade folder, and a 4 - 5 inched fixed blade with full tang.

I rotate but usually I end up carrying a pocket fixed blade and a small slipjoint, or a large locking blade and a slipjoint.

I chose usually rotate between the two but there's really no usually about it, It's whatever I feel like that week.
Could be a folder, could be a fixed blade paired with a folder ( will always be paired with a folder ) Next week I plan to edc a fixed blade, I'm thinking my rehandled Mora.
I could get all my edc needs done with a peanut or Vic classic so I definitely don't have a real need for fixed blades , I as with most knives just carry them because I own and like them. ( I normally like to keep the reasonable at 9" oal or less )

Small pocket fixed with a larger belt fixed, on the weak side. I have a few folders for when I go to church, weddings, or other more formal events.

I'm a dyed in the wool folder guy, mainly for ease of carry. I love how solid a fixed blade is, love the feel in hand, but can't carry them into work, and they're uncomfortable when seated. I normally get by with a small slip joint or a SAN Classic.

You have a nice collection there.

Hey guys, I didn't see a thread similar to this one posted, if it has and I overlooked it, please forgive me. I recently added fixed blades to my carry rotation. I usually carry one or the other, but today, I decided to carry both. Is your edc a folder or fixed blade, or do you usually carry both?
I will carry a fixed more now the law is changing in Texas!.

Carry folder at work since my company is pretty liberal where knifes are concerned don't want to scare anyone. On my days off always a 3 1/2 inch fixed blade so I can conceal carry all day long with no issues.

Or, conservative where knives are concerned. If liberal on knife carry, anything would be allowed. You mean they are political Liberals, a distinction which only makes sense in the US.

Fixed for me these days: Dawson Mercury. A puukko of some variety, too. But I do like large folders like an Opinel N°10 or 12, Cold Steel Eland, Buck 110, and the like. And it's hard to spend a day working on the farm without the SAK Trekker.

I usually carry a small fixed blade these days, but depending on my mood, I might go with a folder. Before that was the opposite, for about 8 years my usual EDC was a Kershaw Shallot composite with the ZDP-189(semi-retired now). And before that was fixed blades. Just phases I go thru. And I don't like to own knives that never get used, folder or fixed..
