Derek forgot to renew or is offline?

We need an IRC channel I think...
Not sure. I never could type fast enough to keep up in chat. By the time I typed something, there was a new subject started, ha ha.

Many a teenage nights were spent on fnet on irc.... downloading adult films until I maxed out my hard drives. That was like 15 years ago... snap time flys.

And yet some things still haven't changed. [emoji6]

Sitting outside by a nice fire. Neko next to me gnawing on a turkey leg. You can't count the number of stars in the sky. The only sounds are crickets and the fire popping.

A good night indeed!

I was wanting to do that tonight. The wife hasn't felt well today though.

I was at a place yesterday that decided to move by throwing most of what they didn't want on the end of the driveway and schedule a Habitat for Humanity pickup. They told us take whatever we wanted - the giant bummer was that I couldn't fit the Magneplanar MG II's in my tiny little Transit. I don't know where I would have put them (they're like 6 feet tall) but I sure would have liked to take them.

I did snag some smaller stuff - a couple Motorola GMRS radios, a Bang & Olufsen turntable, an Ion USB turntable, Kodak slide projector and a very heavy old Yamaha receiver. I really wish my truck was bigger. Ah, well - I have too much shit anyways.

Holy crap. No, they didn't leave anything near as cool. An old sprinkler head for a non existent sprinkler system and some empty boxes.
The empty boxes came in handy in packing our own stuff.

helped a friend move today - I'm going to be a bit sore in the morning, because i already hurt...
he had a silversmithing shop in his basement - and it went in the basement of the new house, too.
the metal shear/3-bar roller was a wee spot heavy..... pretty close to my mass and an odd enough shape it had to be hand carried because it wouldn't ride safely on the dolly. :(

I've been in Colorado 3 1/2 years and I've never been to Pike's Peak. I think tomorrow I'll change that. Monday I'm going shooting. #MilsurpMonday

It took me 24 years living near Seattle to finally make it to Mt. Rainier, it's normal to take things for granted when living close to them. Right?

When I first moved down here, another guy who also transferred and I tried to go but it was in the afternoon and they had closed the road just before we got there. I guess they don't want people driving down in the dark.

So, I got a question for y'all Firefly fans... When you watch the series do you watch it the way it was aired on Fox, or watch it as it was filmed?

As it was filmed, starting with the 2-hour pilot. I believe FOX aired it out of order and didn't even air the pilot first, which meant nobody watched it and that's why it got cancelled before the end of their first season.

Imagine if the show would have been picked up by AMC? Or a movie channel? Holy crap, it would probably still be on!!

I bought the DVD set after seeing a couple of episodes reruns, then watched it on Netflix or amazon last time. So I guess how it was filmed.

Not sure if more seasons would make it better or worse, but I'd watch it regardless. Sometimes a show is best in the first season when it still has originality, sometimes a show can go on for 10 seaons and still be good, it really depends. Plus, with Joss Whedon and friends free to do other stuff we ended up getting movies and other TV shows that were good, like Cabin in the Woods, Castle, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, etc.
