Tonight's supper exercise, Delmonico steak sliced and marinated for 2 days, then cooked in a cast iron skillet with bacon fat and topped with a pan sauce and provolone. The roll is a hoagie roll that was sliced open and added garlic and butter then toasted in the pan and smashed with a weight.
That looks tasty. And it looks like the precursor to a stent.

Glad the procedure went well Ray.

Hope they figure out what's going on with the pooch Spike.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. They ran a couple tests but couldn't figure out what was causing them, we now have her on anti seizure meds. Most likely for the rest of her life

Just got out of the hospital. The Doc put a stent in a blocked artery. Waiting for the go ahead to do some yard work. I put some stuff together for that.

Another quote for deliciousness.

You just made me hungery, off to the kitchen I go.

Thanks guys! It was STUPID yummy. The marinade was orange juice, sriaccha, chipotle, onion, garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, red pepper, worchestershire, ground horseradish and oil.
For the pan sauce I deglazed the cast iron skillet with grand marnier and then added red pepper and salt and butter.

Good luck with the dog, Spike.

Heal quick, Ray.

I'm perplexed by the thought of marinating a perfectly good steak, C-Bear. Why not just some salt and pepper, or perhaps a bit of Chicago Steak Seasoning? Seems to me that Delmonico's are pretty good strait off the cow.... Of course I suppose I'm not much better using sliced ribeye along with the oxtails in the pho I made last Sunday...

Pho Que that looks delicious! I would love to have some!

The delmonico is indeed quite a lovely cut right off the cow, the only reason I marinated it like I did was to impart flavor, I tried my best to slice it pretty thin so I could cook it quick and hot and then make the sauce.

Blew a radiator hose on the truck earlier. Ended up being 2.5 hours late. The supervisor at the post office didn't understand why I couldn't drive the last 6 or 7 miles without any antifreeze. Told her I would do it if she would pay for a $20,000 engine rebuild. She didn't seem to like that idea.

Welcome back Springy!

Thanks brother..

Just got out of the hospital. The Doc put a stent in a blocked artery. Waiting for the go ahead to do some yard work..

Our dog had another seizure, so we took her in to the vet. They're running tests now

Ray and Spike. My prayers for both of you. All my best..

Once you get the hang of it, it's just like falling off a bike..and then we make fun of you..

"they said i blew a seal, i told them to fix the damn thing and keep my personal life out of it"

A penguin was driving his car when it started to smoke and run rough. He limped it into a repair shop and the mechanic told him to come back after a while so they can check it out. So this penguin goes across the street to an ice cream parlor and orders a large bowl of vanilla ice cream. The ice cream arrives and he scarfs it down and makes a bit of a mess. He pays for the ice cream and goes back to check with the mechanic. He goes up to the mechanic and asks "did you find out what was wrong with my car?" The mechanic replies "looks like you blew a seal."

The penguin throws up his hands and says "No, no, no. It's just ice cream!"
