Are you ready for Snark week?!!!

Mornin' GSO. How ya doin?

I'm gonna go to bed for a few hour soon. When I get up I believe I might head out to a few dams in the area and see if I can catch some bluegills. I haven't caught any since I was a kid, so it should be interesting to see if I can get a few. I threw some 6lb Trilene and a slip bobber on a medium light aciton rod that I don't use for anything the other day, so I should be good to go. I'll probably throw that out with a piece of nightcrawler and try my luck.

I hope everyone and their furry friends are feeling better.

I'm perplexed by the thought of marinating a perfectly good steak...

Yeah, that. "Impart flavor" for two freaking days? Do you not like the flavor of STEAK? What are you, some kind of filthy Communist?

No accounting for taste I guess; some people batter their women. I prefer mine plain. :D

If I decide to sell it, you will be the first to know. Right now it is resting comfortably right next to my Crash Rat.:D

Ha-ha, that's a good place for it :D just snarkin ya brother.... Although I am thinking of picking up a few throwers... But I'd need/want 3 at least so brother in law, father, and myself could throw without going to get it each time.... Kdsh a little too pricey to snag 3.... Would be fun to use that one to rip apart an old shed though.... Hmmmm... Now I'm thinkin lol...

Wife is headed to a job interview this morning... If anyone has any extra luck, good vibes, karma... Or magic.... We could use a little this way...

Tonight's supper exercise, Delmonico steak sliced and marinated for 2 days, then cooked in a cast iron skillet with bacon fat and topped with a pan sauce and provolone. The roll is a hoagie roll that was sliced open and added garlic and butter then toasted in the pan and smashed with a weight.

3k calories?

Not to be too much of a killjoy, but I'm wondering the calorie count. Being here in BF I see so much good looking food in pics and I would love to eat, but in the last six months I've been watching my calories and eating better foods. Dropped 25 pounds so far.

Kind thoughts and good vibes are free... but magic costs extra.

Check out HatchetsAndAxes. They have pretty good hawks for the money. You can buy quite a few of their "best competition" throwing hawks for the price of one KDSH.

Prayers sent up for the job interview.

WW smoke for the wife! Hope she gets the job!

According to the food calorie calculator, after putting everything in it spit out that it was 980 calories. So, I'd say it was actually fairly healthy for a supper.

Asian food is generally healthy and delicious...like the pho I posted earlier. Or the banh mi (sandwich) I made with Thai sweet chili glazed beef, homemade pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and Sriracha mayo on a baguette.

And while we're talking about Vietnamese food, I don't normally like rap music, but this video is fantastic!

Some of us have a palate slightly more refined than "Ugh! I make fire! I eat meat!" As such I sometimes will vary how I cook a steak, sometimes it will be in a marinade and sliced thin and put on a sandwich, sometimes it will be in soup, sometimes it will be just on the grill, sometimes I will have it covered in a mushroom puree and wrapped in puff pastry. The things that are important are 1) No ketchup, 2) cooked to perfection, 3) It's what I want.

Oh and for the rest of you naysayers, it was a store bought steak. If it had been an actual GOOD steak that isn't how I would have made it.

Well, 980 isn't too bad, considering if I ate sensible during the day. I'm really only doing about 2k, or less a day so, 980 is a big calorie meal for me.

Good for you! I too am torn between the Texan in me that wants to eat whatever I want and flip off anyone who bats an eye about it and the me that currently lives in Los Angeles surrounded by healthy but still delicious options and beautiful people.

Yes! Exactly! A steak from my brother's cow? A little salt and pepper. A steak from Krogers? Marinate that thing for a week!

damn you all, here I am trying to eat less and all you people are posting delish-looking pics of awesome meals. My self-control isn't THAT good. :o

AC would get some minnows and try for crappies instead. Probably bitting. Blue gills are probably with them. Ive caught crappies on 3-4" suckers minnows before trying for pike. Nice ones will go for minnows and if they aint biting something else will. You can catch them on crawlers but its usually dinking ones mostly just stealing the bait. Only use minnows for crappies/ bluegill unless cant for some reason. You fishing on shore?

Good luck to your wife Rich.

Like asain food too. Just makes you feel good after eating it usually. After visiting thailand and cooking with a Taiwanese chef here in the states my mom makes thai food quite a bit. Theres this shrimp/crab soup with lemon grass and peppers that is just crazy good. Might attempt to make myself sometime. Hard to get ingredients in town here though I guess.

Wow...somebody just put up on the exchange a Brute w/ micarta for....cheap.
Looks like it sold quickly.

damn... I fail to pay attention for ONE SECOND (or a few hours in this case) and a deal slips through. Wish I didn't have to work all day. :o
