Awesome score G!

It may be about time to start looking for another puppy to add to our family...

Requirements, over 50 pounds full grown, great in the heat, and likes to go on long hikes through the woods.

Neko gives up and about dies when we hit 2 miles. Hell, sometimes he is done after half a mile... That's not going to do lol...

German Shorthaired Pointer!
A great hunting/outdoors dog with a short coat, doesn't need bathing at a daily/weekly interval, strong nails so little maintenance is required, loves the woods and water alike, and is heat tolerant. On top of that, they are great for families.
Avg weight is 55-70 lbs

We're making progress on the new house. Apartment is vacated and all of our stuff is piled into the garage. We have all the ceilngs except for a small bedroom and most of the downstairs painted and we were abke to living room put together.

It'll be nice to get the rest finished up so we can move the rest of our crap from the garage. I'm ready to start working on my workspace!

Moving sucks :( I'm glad I'll potentially never do it again :D

Good luck Jerry :D

Just remember never to work too hard. Relax and open a(nother) beer. It makes painting easier :D

Hey Guys.

I may be out of contact for a little bit. A few people have my cell number, and I will try to communicate as much as possible, but I will be offline. Moving and literally taking apart my desk almost as we speak. Not sure where we are landing just yet and so i am not sure when I will be back online yet. Wish me luck fellas. We are hoping to find out in the next few days if the gig I really want is offered to me, if not theres a couple fall backs at least. Talk to yall later.

Gallo: super cell. Wish I had that here, but it's just metamorphics and glacial erratics

I love having had both the practice, materials, and tools on hand, but the time and energy to "do a thing" and do it right...

Good times...

Good luck Silver!! Hope things go well!!

Thats when miracles are born!!

:D

There's been a new spot, temporary construction site exposing Miocene layers. I'm not sure if I've posted pics or not. Here are some... The construction is coming to a close so these sands will be underneath concrete sooner rather than later.

I know no one wants to see repeats of these photos except for me. TOO BAD. But DAMN, G! You got ALL the teeth! That is just fascinating. So when are we gonna see some more pics of those dino-pine cones? I imagine they're getting close to being ready.....

Don't forget LOTS of energy. LOTS of energy - as in, chase a stick ALL DAY - start with a log and at the end of the day it's a splinter. I had a friend who's GSHP would go on a 4 hour mountain bike ride with us and would still be dropping the stick at your feet when we got home. His name: Ivan. Ivan the Terrible. That dog was the Energizer bunny of dogs. Beware.

Or as they're commonly known, Leaverites. As in, "Leaverite there, boys, it's too damn big to move!"

yeah, well, nh is home to a lot of slope and rocks

I see a post career with two menzi mucks and a crew making walls and smoothing vineyards :)

the desire to quote soooooo many previous posts is a bit hard to resist at this point. However, I will use my one bit of restraint for the night here.

That sounds like our previous dog - a Vizsla. Those who had Vizslas said he'd fatten up and slow down when he turned 2 or 3. He didn't. For most of his life running was his favorite thing. Favorite. He'd chose running over food. We took him backpacking once and had to hold him in the tent and hand feed him. He slowed down around 15 when his hips started getting weak. He was great.

When we got ready for a new dog, we couldn't find a Vizsla locally, but did find a GSP. Thought we were making a pretty even swap, and they do share many of the same qualities. This dog is a powerful runner as well. She's come back more than once bleeding from something she ran into/over/through. But, she will eat as well, and at 2 years old, she's already noticeably calmer than our Vizsla was until old, old age.

Probably the single biggest difference is how much our GSP sheds. She does have short hair, but man she sheds. It amazes me she isn't bald. When the Vizsla shed, it looked like you might be having a bad eyelash day. When the GSP sheds, it looks like you could sweep up the hair and make a spare dog.

And good luck with the move Thorny.
